some time ago i introduced the phrase "food pact" to my friends as a shorthand for "i'll go make and eat food if you also make and eat food" and ever since then ive just started incorporating more pacts into my life. stay hydrated pact. stretch break pact. stop doomscrolling and go to bed pact. we need to bring this back in vogue more people should be making pacts imo

I know this may seem like a silly question. But why should I love myself, if I have hurt myself and have hurt others?

as much as we want to believe it, there's not going to be any redemption or reward for holding onto the hurt or your belief that you deserve it. there is no home in that narrative; we think there is, but it's not an identity you can live in for long--you cannot punish your way towards some divine absolution from the world, and you won't be purified by that punishment either. pain won't increase in value the longer you hold it; you cannot earn your way towards "worthiness" by how much of it you hoard. you only have two hands, anon. aren't they tired? aren't you? the world is there w open arms. all it asks is that you take a step. you don't need to earn that step, or the right to make it.

i feel like all i do is watch people and notice all the beautiful things about them and try to understand them fully and no one does that for me … sometimes i feel like i’m just a mirror to reflect people back to themselves. a vessel for love and that’s it… i make everyone else into poetry and no one else sees me the way i see them it’s so depressing

I love it when people are unapologetically themselves! Like when they take up space and have opinions and quirks. When they’re awkward or loud or a lil bit weird. Even when they’re shy but start to open up around you. I love when people are just unexpected. When they exist beyond how they’re supposed to act or what’s socially acceptable. I love when you get to know someone and all the little quirks that set them apart from everyone else. Seeing the little windows of their heart. It’s so vulnerable and intriguing and absolutely heartwarming.
