Excellent layering of marks and colours to create this wonderfully bright and abstract image. The use of perspective is the added cherry on top, it looks like an alternative reality we want to jump into and explore! Another fine example of layering for a fun effect! 🔴🔵 Swipe to see the full effect! This is by @herownreality using the #093 ScrawlrBox. - “This one took a while, but here we are with the May ScrawlrChallenge: Kaleidoscope. Not my best work but a lot of meaning behind it. It’s of course a little fan art for the wonderful and absolutely stunning game „Gris“, it’s a kaleidoscope on its own because of its story, the soundtrack, the colors, the emotions but it’s also a great reflection of life. I decided to make it an anaglyphic picture in somewhat way (you may count this as kaleidoscope or not) and if you swipe, you’ll see the drawing through the different filters (or just use anaglyphic glasses). Life can be colorful, life can be fun, but life can also be a tragedy, a nightmare. We tend to see it with a specific mindset every now and then. But remember: you can’t change everything, some things just happen, but you can decide with which mindset you wanna face those things. If you look through just one filter (the red one in this case) you’ll just see darkness, cracks, destruction, desolation (a very dark mindset) but try to see things through another one (the blue one here). Now you’ll notice, that the bad things start to disappear (without the outlines, you wouldn’t see those parts of the drawing anymore) and other things start to appear. Bright things, hopeful things, the good sides of life. The bad things aren’t that scary anymore, right. Life is a kaleidoscope, try to see it as colorful, as bright, try to rotate, change the angle, the filter and things will change.
