ok, yes. gōnghé, which is…an abbreviation for “industrial cooperative”? Like it was just a term for a worker-run organization? A specific U.S. marine stationed in China interpreted it as a motivational slogan about teamwork, and as a commander he got his whole battalion using it, and other U.S. marines found those guys so exhausting that it migrated into English slang with the meaning “overly enthusiastic”.

fear not, girl with very hairy calves. you too can end up talking to a nice and friendly guy for a while and realize everybody else is gone and you didn’t really want to be alone with him you just wanted to engage on the level he was engaging with you because he was nice and that’s a good thing because you came out here to interact with people obviously that’s why you’re here so if there’s somebody who actually does want to be nice to you obviously that’s a good thing but you kept talking to him to the point where you two have been sort of a pair the whole night and now you’re alone and you just want to go back to the group where nobody really looks at you but you don’t have to keep talking back and forth with this guy and actively sealing your own fate because the more you talk to him nicely the closer you get to him making some sort of move but what else can you do but talk to him nicely like what are you going to do stop talking talk meanly no you’re gonna be nice and when he says something you have to kinda mumble about and change the subject because you hate saying no it’ll either be your own fault or it won’t you’re not sure! it’s just that for you the guy is gonna be like bisexual or something
