Also I love making that red and cyan effect with the lines on characters with rlly high LV, it looks cool and it’s a fun way to visually separate them from less violent characters… though I’m still a bit undecided about how I want LV to work. I was thinking that I’ll make it so that only killing monsters/drakes will give LV. This is mostly because the way I think of LV is when a monster dies since their body is almost entirely magic when their SOUL breaks all that magic gets destabilized and disperses. If there is someone with killing intent nearby when that happens the dead monster’s magic will be attracted to their SOUL and kinda start clinging to it. That means that the killer’s SOUL will become stronger with the extra magic but will also be more unstable and prone to violent reactions.

All of that means that, since humans/wyverns have physical bodies, when their SOUL breaks their magic stays in their body and takes time to disperse. That means that the only way to get LV from a human/wyvern would be to… consume their flesh.((SOUL absorbing is also an option but it is very different from LV))And it would have to be right after they died. Soooooo not a lot of characters that would apply to 😅

That means that Horror will have a lot less LV then characters like Dust, Killer, and Fell since he was mostly killing humans and he was not eating them. This also explains why humans that kill each other don’t get super powerful from it.

Finally got around to posting this! Here’s some info about our dreamtale AU! It’s mostly just dreamtale with dragons but there’s some other differences as well!

In my AU instead of eating the apples he just directly fuses them with his soul because thinking about him just sitting there eating all of them one by one is kinda funny

I’m gonna be honest and say I actually am not very familiar with canon dreamtale so I’m kinda making up my own stuff. So in this the Nightmare we see after dreamtale was always with baby Nightmare. The apples were there to hold all the extra negativity and positivity in the multiverse that the guardians couldn’t handle themselves. Big Nightmare convinced baby Nightmare that the apples were the only way he could escape the villagers, and when the negativity was too much for baby Nightmare to handle big Nightmare took all of it. This resulted in baby Nightmare going dormant, technically not dead but not able to be awake because of the extreme negativity. For hundreds of years after that big Nightmare was completely lost in the negativity, mindlessly seeking out positivity and destroying it. Only around 300 years later he started to regain some kind of balance or control over himself. 200 years after that he was stable enough for baby Nightmare to start regaining consciousness and to basically start spectating big Nightmare’s life kinda like XChara with Cross. (At that point he had Killer and Cross working for him)

This is partly why big Nightmare is so protective of the bad sanses, he was always very protective of people and after failing to keep baby Nightmare safe he couldn’t stop himself from adopting a few sad little strays to take care of.

It was around 400 years after the destruction of Dreamtale that Dream escaped the stone and took refuge in an underswap AU. That AU’s Sans would eventually be the Swap that fights alongside Dream and Ink against Nightmare, and he and his Alphys trained Dream so he could fight. Swap Undyne was the one to suggest he use his magic to fight with gold spikes.

I edited Nightmare’s card to be the uncorrupted design! Unlike most monsters (which in this au are called drakes) Dream and Nightmare have wings, making them very similar to a drake that has absorbed a wyvern soul. After corruption Nightmare is a shapeshifter and can choose to have wings or not, and usually chooses not to so that he can be more like a normal sans au. Both Dream and Nightmare have gold “crowns” that are suspended above their heads by their magic. After Dream was turned to stone and escaped he also got gold spikes to float along his back that can be used as weapons.

(They get there first because Night’s got a lot more extra magic than Dream to spend on monitoring the multiverse(also Nightmare’s gonna have to bribe Error with a ton of chocolate and undernovella merch to keep him from just destroying the whole place))
