I get people who don't think Anders and Fenris are friends because *looks at canon* but also it's so much funnier if they are friends DESPITE of what happens in canon. And I'm not talking like; they both hang out with Hawke and are friends by proxi. I'm talking like, these two are FRIENDS and ALSO they just randomly antagonise one another for no reason just "why did your lover get labotomised I bet he deserved it" and "you don't have the temperament of a slave if I was your master I'd have killed you" and also just. They hang out and play cards together and have each others backs in battle. Like. That is so much funnier and complex.

hawke does become rich after the deep roads expedition, but they spent most of their life in the working class and they never forget their roots. they make a point of donating routinely to the fereldan refugees fund as well as the kirkwall alienage. they care about the underprivileged in the city a great deal and that never changes.
