This week's panel drove me absolutely to madness. The yellow I bought specifically because I knew I'd be doing a lot of panels with a lot of yellow wound up being absolutely trash, and covered nothing at all. It's the most transparent-ass, cover-nothing yellow paint I have ever worked with, and I cannot believe I now have 16oz of this crap to deal with. Which is a shame because it is the perfect shade of yellow for rubber ducks and pineapples and egg yolks and all that sort of thing.
No prints of this one because it's a disaster and I'm going to be redoing it. You can read all about it on my newsletter.

16x12" acrylic on canvas.
I haven't got a whole lot to say about this one, really. It's a pretty simple one, really. Or I don’t know. Maybe it isn’t. I think it’s a pretty simple one, but it’s always these weird little things that seem to do the best when I share them. I did this one with one of the stranger little tools in my collection, because it is a roller, but it’s not a paint roller. I actually have no idea what it is, and I have no idea how it came into my possession. I think it may be for screen printing? Maybe? I’ve never done screen printing, so if that’s the case, who knows how I got it. It’s hard rubber instead of fluff or foam, and mostly just makes a mess, but I like the texture it leaves behind and that’s what I wanted for this piece.

I've mentioned a new Taskmaster project, and this is the first part of it.  I don't know how many parts will go into it, but this felt like a good place to start.
Some of you know this already, but over the past few years I've been dealing this this absolute bastard of some sort of acquired faceblindness that has been affecting my art as it progresses.  Rather than struggling and getting endlessly frustrated with not being able to achieve the things I feel like should be easy for me to achieve, I've decided to do something appropriately weird and unhinged and still within the realm of fanart, and started painting the familiar motifs from the show.  I started with a pineapple, and then because it made me laugh, I stuck some sunglasses on it, which led down the rabbit hole of squinting at photos of Alex Horne's tattoo to figure out what colour the sunglasses on his tattoo are (only to realise too late I'd got the angle wrong, but oh well).

Acrylic on canvas.  The paints I used for this one have a really rubbery texture when dry, so I used as little as possible.  The black is Black 1.0.
I did a full step by step write up of this piece on my newsletter.

Acrylic on canvas.
When I was doing the sign, my husband suggested a raccoon messing up some toilet paper to go with it.  This is the result.  He didn't photograph very well, and I kind of gave up trying to get all the details to show up.

Acrylic on canvas.  This one didn't turn out at all what it was originally intended to be, but I still really like where it went.
I did a full step-by-step process write up of it on my newsletter.

Acrylic and Sharpie on canvas.
This was my Pride piece this year.  I don't really do a lot of Pride pieces usually, but I had a lot of thoughts in my head, and a lot to be angry about this year especially.  At the most distilled basis of this piece, it's about the reclamation of outdated words and symbols, but I did a very lengthy write-up of not only the process, but what was going through my mind as I painted it on my newsletter.

My scanner quit on me, so here’s a bonus charcoal sketch I did tonight while rewatching the most recent series of Never Mind the Buzzcocks. I don’t often do charcoal because I hate the mess, but it is a medium I do find works fairly naturally with my style

New post up on Patreon. I'd have had this one posted over an hour ago, and with a much better picture, but my scanner decided to randomly die on me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Everything Is Wrong | Mixed media on canvas
This was a weird piece. Nothing about it should have worked, but I love how it turned out all the same. I started with watercolour, which absolutely should have failed. But the dirt-cheap canvas took it wonderfully. I thought I was using India ink, but I'm bad at labelling things, and it was actually a Black 1.0 wash that I'd fucked up, and which doesn't set properly, so it kept lifting itself back up with each new pass. So I had to go on an adventure to get some spray varnish so I could add an isolation layer before continuing, since the only varnish I had at the time could only be brushed on. (I'd tried to atomise it in my airbrush once before. It only succeeded in fucking up my airbrush.)
Then, I decided I wanted to glue a load of rhinestones to it, and spent an entire series of Taskmaster doing exactly that. Somehow, I only managed to burn myself once doing that. I wanted to spray the bottom silver, but when I picked up the can of spray paint for that, I found it empty, so I went with gold instead. Ultimately, I think the gold works better than the silver would have anyway.

I've decided to make this one available for print as well. I waffled on it, but it was popular enough that I decided to make it available.
Since InPrnt's stickers are only available in square format, and this one doesn't crop well, I've skipped the stickers for now. If they open up more aspect ratios in the future, I'll enable stickers then.

One perk of moving my prints over to InPrnt from RedBubble is I'm able to offer extra deals and coupons to supporters.
For all Substack supporters, and for $5 Patreon supporters, I've set up a 10% off coupon. Both platforms offer a 7-day free trial, so you can see what you'll get before you commit, and both mirror everything the other posts, so you don't have to subscribe to both (and I don't want you to; that would be weird).
