                           Never had he experienced a pain as he did in this moment. For over a thousand years there had a been silent presence that reminded him that he wasn't alone. That all he had to do was reach out with his mind and Godric would be there. Now there was nothing. A thousand years worth of memories and feelings now reduced to an emptiness that the Norseman never thought was possible nor something he was capable of feeling. Yet there he sat on his knees beside the chair his maker had occupied not even five minutes ago, lingering scent that he would never smell again.

Bloody tears stained his cheeks and they continued to poor freely from his eyes. The lump in his throat only growing if he had need to breathe, he would have suffocated from the size of it. And he would have welcomed the suffocation, the release of death but it was not his time. No, he had to be there for Pamela who he could feel trying to reach him and really, it only added to the tears. The pain he felt in his chest where his long since dead heart resided was crushing him, leaving him leaning heavily against the chair.

There was nothing left for him in Texas and he would have happily returned home right then and there. Even with the sun now shining brightly in the early morning hours of the day. However, he could not and would not do that to Pamela, who he could only imagine feeling part of the pain that he felt now. Soon... he assured her, thankful for their connection and not needing to use a phone. And he kept to his word, having to actually call the airline to arrange his return to Shreveport before he went to his coffin.

The next couple of hours felt like they dragged out longer than what they did. There was no sleep, not something Eric could will himself to do as he laid there in the pitch blackness. Tears continued to run along his cheek, drying only for fresh ones to fall. The bleeds then sat in around the fourth hour mark, but he didn't care, he could have bled out right then and there and it wouldn't have hurt as badly as losing his maker, his father. However, when he felt his coffin shift and come to a stop, he knew he was home; he could smell the club and yet he made no attempts to open the lid. He just laid there and stared at the lid, wondering if Pam was downstairs or if she had gone home.

PAIN ENTERED INTO HER CHEST BEFORE SHE EVEN KNEW precisely what had happened. It was the sadness from Eric that overwhelmed her, that estranged feeling but deep down, she suddenly began to feel empty. Like a nothingness that was ripped out of her cold, dead heart. Slowly, she let's the emotion wash over her, hand clutching at her chest while leaning into the bar of Fangtasia, fingers gripping tightly. Already could she feel the unwelcomed pool of bloodied tears that began to form at the corner of her eyes, for a moment she felt as if she needed air to breathe regardless of the fact that it was unnecessary. Had she known the outcome of the evening, she would have been there, right by Eric's side as usual but even from their long distance apart could she feel his pain and it was then that she knew. ❝ No. ❞ She whispered, head shaking. She was alone in all of this, no one around to see the ache she was feeling, no one to comfort her. Though her only thought in that moment was Eric ; who was there to comfort him? To really comfort him. Without meaning to, her body fell to the floor, eyes still pooling with blood that she tried her best to hold back but it was inevitable. Eric… she attempts to reach out through the void, come home. Come home.

with tumblr often glitching and unfollowing people on accident, reblog this if it is okay for (former) mutuals to message you if they notice you suddenly unfollowed them out of nowhere, asking if it was a mistake — granted if it wasn't, the person remains respectful of your decision and leaves it at that once they get an answer.

everyone can reblog this, but i figure this is especially good for those of us who use the (soft) blocking feature if we decide to unfollow someone instead of just unfollowing. this way, we can be alerted if tumblr has unfollowed a friend of ours without us noticing, as well as the other mutual not having to have anxiety about you suddenly hating them or worrying that you'll get upset for them asking if it was a mistake or not.

this, of course, does not mean that you are okay with people pushing to continue conversations with you if you say you unfollowed them. let's all be adults here.
