blue whales are the largest animal ever recorded, like you literally need to be in a helicopter to actually see one in from a perspective with zero distortion. idk i just feel pretty lucky to be alive on earth at the same time as them and they don’t even want to kill me. they just wanna use their toothbrush mouthes to filter the ocean of smol ocean bugs. they have communities and they sing to each other to communicate. work is slow im sorry happy friday whales r so cool

Sunday 3.11.13
I also only seem to walk around. I had a very lazy sunday walking from Bond street tube station to Oxford Circus, then down to Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square.
'The Fifth Estate' was playing the in the cinemas at this time, and I desperately wanted to see it, though because the closest cinemas were The Odeon and Empire I knew it was going to cost me a small fortune to see it. So more walking it was. I walked all the way back up Oxford Street, to Marble Arch, stood there for a while then got a train back towards the hostel.
I'd been kept awake all night by the three men I had the misfortune to share a room with. Two of them weren't any worse than the majority of people are. But there was this old guy we were sharing with, and I don't mean he was about 40, I mean this man was about 65. And when he sleeps he stops breathing for a minute or so at a time. When he finally does start to breath again he gasps and chokes. It was actually horrible to listen to and even with my headphones in I couldn't drown it out.
So having been kept up for most of the night, I had a nap while no one was in the room. When I woke up I was super hungry, not eating all day generally has that effect on people, and so I decided to hop back onto the train and go to Camden Town for dinner. Ended up getting some cheap chinese food, it had probably been sitting there all day but it was £3 and I didn't get sick, so thats a success in my book!
Made my way back to the hostel, chilled out in the lounge room area for while, listening to all the fireworks. I was pretty excited for bonfire night on tuesday.

Saturday 2.11.13
I was up and out of my bed earlyish today, considering I had to check out again at 10am only to check back in in 4 hours.
Seeing as I had plenty of time to kill I went back into London. Went into Primark - probably the best store in the world, its so cheap! Then walked around Hyde Park. The weather in England is so strange, while I was sitting on a bench in the park, it went from foggy/misty, to completely fine and sunny, then suddendly it was raining. Get your shit together England!
I did get to see ponies while I was sitting there, and loads of puppies! All were super cute. I also was being a bit of a sook and burst into tears at one point, I'm fairly certain it had more to do with the music I was listening to than the person I was thinking of. For everyones information, I was listening to Death Cab for Cutie - any of there songs will actually make me tear up, and was thinking of V - of course! Wow I'm so lame.
After being the worlds biggest loser, I hopped onto the tube and went to Camden Town, just to have a look around and my god it was busy. I honestly love this part of London and wanted to buy everything! If only I had some money to my name! I walked around there for ages, then headed back to the hostel to check in again, had a very, very long shower and promptly fell asleep. Again.
All I seem to do is sleep.

Friday 1.11.13
I arrived in London around 2pm. I was staying in a different hostel than usual so I was on a mission to find this one. Turns out I picked on about as far out of London as I could possibly get. It was still nicer than the clink hostel chain though - for now.
When I finally found the place and was checking in, they told me that i'd have to check out tomorrow and check back in, because the room that they put me in was booked out the next day. Wouldn't it have been simpler to put me in a room that hadn't been booked out in the first place?!
After a quick 2 hour nap - yes thats a quick nap - I went to meet Kirstie* and Kev for dinner at The Lucas Arms pub, a favourite with Kev and I. After dinner we were all going to go for a walk, but Kirstie had plans to meet up with other friends of hers, so Kev and I went to his work for a drink, but it was super busy and I was not in the mood to deal with that many people in a tiny tiny room, so I was going to bed.
Took about half an hour to get home though and by this point I was well tired. So I basically jumped straight into bed.
*I used to work with Kirstie at Cactus Jacks as well - her Kev and I all planned our trips together while still at home in brissy :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I spent most of my day walking around banbury and between coffee shops again. Breakfast and hot chocolate at Cafe Nero, another massive hot chocolate at Costa then tea in Druckers.
In my defense it was a cold day and I had some coins spare so thats how I decided to spend them.
Walked all the way back to Bramble Cottage from town and had a really nice hot shower. Everyone was going to a halloween party, but I was feeling very antisocial and was enjoying the comforts of a home, so I decided to stay in.
Probably one of the more relaxing nights on this trip, literally sat around drinking tea and watching bad english television. Though I did book my train ticket back to London for the following day.

Wednesday 30.10.13
I'm literally going to copy this first part word for word out of my actual diary because I think its hilarious looking back at it.
'I had a dream I went suit shopping with V, honestly him in a suit is about the sexiest thing I can think of *drool*. He just needs to get in and around my body whilst wearing one - whoops'
oh my god. I mean yes, that is the sexiest thing I can still think of, but seriously. What.
I was a Hobbit for the day and basically just didn't stop eating. I had two breakfasts at Frankie and Benny's - pancakes with bacon and a bacon and egg sandwich. Yum. I then met Jess in town for lunch, we went to the Old Auctioneer where my sister used to work and where I lived for a month in 2012. Jess was on the hunt for a job for me, hopefully something would come up.
I spent the day walking around the shops, looking at all the pretty things I couldn't afford to buy, and drinking tea/hot chocolate at various coffee shops. I literally went to about 3 different places, not even kidding.

Tuesday 29.10.13
Travel days will always put me in the worst mood. Not matter how well I plan, or pack, things just never ever go smoothly.
I went from Wombats- Hauptbahnhof - Flughafen (airport) - Oslo - Heathrow - Victoria tube station - Marylebone - Banbury.
It sucked. I got into Banbury at about 9:30pm, and my sisters friend Jess was suppose to meet me at the train station, because I'd be staying with her for a couple days. But she wasn't there. On top of that, my ipod was on its last legs, battery wise, and would not connect to the Maccas wifi. So I couldn't contact her. Then I tried to get money out but the ATMs wouldn't let me. So I gave up and tried to find a hotel or something where I could stay. Annnndd couldn't find one anywhere.
By this point I was almost in tears. I was exhausted, had no where to sleep, my bag was becoming heavier every second, it was horrible.
I was fairly certain I knew the way to Jess's house though (I had been there the previous year) so I jumped in a cab and told him the way. Looking back now I realise that I somehow managed to get my taxi fare for cheaper than was told, not actually sure how I achieved it hey. Probably did something weird in my delirious state. But I had made it to Jess's!
Only she wasn't there, no one was. DANG IT. And so I prepared for a long night of sitting outside in the freezing cold. I was so over it by this point that I was seriously considering going back to London and getting a flight home. England just seems to have that effect on me.
Jess finally got home at 11:30, thank god for that. I got to have the best cup of tea - though it was probably really good because I really needed it!
So we sat around and watched tv, a welcome comfort, and fell asleep at about 4am.
- My flight from Oslo to London was actually the worst. As we were coming in over London the cabin filled with smoke and the plane dropped about 250m. It was so scary.
And as I was getting off the plane, I looked back and there was a man still sitting down but as I was watching they covered him with a blanket. SOMEONE DIED ON MY FLIGHT!!!

Monday 28.10.13
Today I was bed ridden. I probably should've made the most of being in Munich but sometimes its good to just have a chilled out day. I'm pretty sure I had about 5 showers on this day.
I got to skype with mum and dad, that was fairly entertaining, I don't think my dad understands that he doesn't need to yell at the computer for me to hear him. Its pretty hilarious to witness.
Seeing as I had drunk messaged V.. a fair few times, the other night I sent him an apology. Looking back I'm not sure why I did, should've just left it. But it basically turned into a novel.
"How Not To Get Guys - a Novel by Me"
Yeah this was probably my downfall, actually it was probably a lot of things but oh well. Lesson learnt hey!
So other than making a complete fool out of myself and sleeping/skyping thats all I really did today!

Sunday 27.10.13
Ha so this entry in my journal is just a continued rant. Whoops. Basically all the same things were said as the previous day.
Though today I booked my flight back to London. How strange is it that the cheapest flight had a stopover in Oslo. Surely that just costs more for the airline? I'm not sure, but I was excited. I'd kind of be in Norway! Kind of.
So on tuesday I would be doing that, another big travelling day.
I kept getting mistaken for a Topdeck Tour Leader when I would wear my trip shirt. A Busabout driver thought I was one, and I didn't correct him. I was in too deep! At first I thought he was just asking my about my trip but then he was like 'Oh so you're finished for the season? Where are you going next? Yeah I've got about 3 weeks left then I'm going home until next season'. I really should have said something but I just didn't, it had happened too many times now and I was quite enjoying it if I'm honest.

Saturday 26.10.13
Getting out of bed was probably the biggest challenge on this day. I'm fairly certain this is one of the only times in my life I have ever been hungover. And it felt disgusting.
So I attempted to eat breakfast, ended up drinking my weight in orange juice and water, then trying to find Chris and Adam. They were sitting in the lobby of their hostel next door waiting to go to the airport.
This is probably the best thing that happened all day - well for me it was, not such much for the two boys. They were checking their paperwork to find out what time the flight was (it was about 11-12ish now) and suddenly they both made the weirdest noises. Turns out their flight to London was not at 3pm as they though, but 9am. How they got it so wrong I will never understand. But my god it was hilarious. There was a bunch of aussies in the lobby with us and they all just burst out laughing. I felt so bad for Chris and Adam but I couldn't help laughing - was probably still very drunk.
So they had to book new flights, which cost €1000!!! Then we rushed off to Hauptbahnhof so they could make their way to the airport/London.
Which left me with not much to do for the afternoon. I grabbed some crispy m&ms and a massive bottle of lemonade then went back to bed.
The next bit in my travel journal is literally just me having a huge rant about the asians in my room that refused to be quiet. Apparently they turned the lights on at 11:30pm and didn't turn them off until 1:40am. But seriously who does that?! I mean it was as much their room as it was mine, but at a certain point you should be respectful of everyone else and try to be considerate.
NOTE; please do not be these people in a hostel, after 10pm just use your phone light or something. If you know you are going to be coming in late, have your pjs and whatnot set out ready for you. It may not be the easiest thing sometimes but its better to be this person than the one that turns every light on in the middle of the night.
