we need a more complex season rating system. i can't just keep ranking shit on how much i like it because that leads to some WACKO incidents like me putting season nine (one of the worst seasons) in my top five. so here is my system:

i liked watching it: yes / no, i liked watching parts but there were serious nearly unwatchable sections / no, it was bad to watch

i like thinking about it: yes / no, because it makes me too mad / no, because i'm not interested

i like what it could have been: no, because it mostly lived up to its potential / yes / no, because it didn't have any really good potential

i like its broader impact on the narrative: yes / no, because it had a bad impact / no, because it had no major impact

i think about sam and eileen all the time and what it is about them that makes them so so special and honestly it comes down to this. sam and eileen the unreality duo of all time and yet they both know that the two of THEM are real! you asked what about this is real WE ARE!!!!!! the way they both had unimaginable things happen to them (brain scrambled by the devil, brain scrambled by god) and yet by happenstance. met each other and LIKED each other on top of that!!!!!! season 7 sam hurts himself to remind himself whats real. and in season 15. in season 15. he kisses eileen. and he tells her he knows that was real. what the FUCK!!!!!!

it’s like!!!!! why are you putting her in this if you’re not going to bother!!!!!! and like i know im not d/Deaf so grain of salt i guess but i do love eileen so so much and i find it. supremely annoying. when there is clearly no effort in fic to engage with her meaningfully. if dean or cas or sam is communicating with her then they should be signing!!!! they just should be!!!!! i know she has magical speech reading abilities in the show but it’s not hard to go the other way and give them magical hand wavey asl lessons!!!!! and like. i don’t know. i just think you should do research if you have no lived experience. shockingly. because if you care enough about her to include her in your work you should also care about the fact that she is Deaf! that’s part of her character! it informs how she responds to and interprets things! at bare minimum you should know that she won’t answer the fucking phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
