Is it just me or did our generation (those of is who are currently 20-30 ish) just not get the opportunity to be young in the 'standard' sense?

Like, everyone I talk to who's over 40 has all their wild stories about their teens and 20s, being young and dumb, and then I talk to my friends and coworkers and classmates, and we just... dont.

#i was *just* thinking about this #you hear stories from our parents generation about their early 20's and the wild crazy mistakes they made and the stories they have now #and then i look at myself and im like i cant Afford to do any of that #not even just in a financial sense but i cant pack up my life into my car and drive across country just Cause #i cant go on a 6 month long bender in russia like my dad did #i cant afford to loose the little that i have #i live in my parents fucking basement i have a 401k and i talk abount the weather and union benifits to all my other early 20's coworkers
