Another night's work on the dancing Dean and Garth hats. This is my hack for sanding at the workbench. I use a cheap collapsible light box with a piece of clear shower curtain clipped to cover the door. This Hills in most of the dust and I just vacuum it out! From maybe to YES PLEASE! This makes my day. I didn't like the options I had (first pic), the pops with the hats that would work were expensive, so I made my own (second pic), and it worked! But sanding resin is a nightmare. Wasn't happy with the hats for the Dean/Garth dance scene I'm working on... So I'm making my own! Made some molds from a pencil cup, flattened the bottom, and modified a square coaster mold to be sorta round (I'll sand it round) this is the tester, & it needs to be sanded WAY down, but i love the straight edges of the crown. I was also able to size them to their heads!
