As someone who has been subject to the patronsisation, bureaucracy, and systematic racism and misogyny, of a chronically underfunded and understaffed psychiatric system, I am finished with the government justifying lifting lockdown restrictions "because of mental health".
You don't care about mental health. You never did when gutting the NHS and social care services, increasing costs of higher education, allowing the private housing culture in this country to destroy the hopes of my generation to have safe, stable, accessible, and affordable housing.
You don't care about mental health when you force 150 000 people in your country to suicide becuase of a cruel and punitive so called "welfare" system that incentives removing disability and unemployment welfare from disabled people enmasse so that ATOS shareholders can line their pockets with cash.
You don't care about mental health when you allow ethnic minorities to be forced to work during a pandemic on the front lines for low pay, and see us die at higher rates than our white counterparts.
You don't care about mental health when psychiatric referrals take over 6 months to get through, and you are back of the queue again if you move to a different local authority or miss an appointment.
You don't care about mental health when there is next to no support available on the NHS if you have a psychiatric condition that's not depression or anxiety.
You don't care about mental health. You are using us as an excuse to force people to go back to work so that the ruling classes can continue to extract as much money from us as possible.
Becuase that's why you are in power, and we all know it.

I'm... On the fence about deleting this blog or deleting my new one. One of them has to go and a part of me feels like this one has way too much baggage but also I nearly reached 1k followers on this one and that kinda means a lot. I may not delete, just make this one private but its still hard starting again from the ground up, especially when tumblr is no where near popular these days! But yeah, pls follow @tomiyeyugo anyways
