Audio/Video
Editing off of the smiling face cursor demo, I changed the background to use the camera tool. I had some trouble with getting the video to show up, as originally two images of what the camera showed popped up. However, using the hide video code, I was able to disable the second camera footage.

Objects and Arrays
Alongside Jacquar and Anastasiya, the three of us worked on creating an array of a restaurant menu. Jacquar worked on the basic array element of the assignment, while Anastasiya and I worked on the visual aspects of the project. Specifically, I worked on making sure the menu was easy to read and not cluttered.

For one of my assignments, I worked with Ellie Huang to make improvements to my code. Ellie’s recommendation for me was to use an if statement to change the face of the cursor in my conditionals assignment. Using her advice, I made it so that the face opens its mouth after the cursor hits a certain point on the screen.

Choose Your Own Adventure Final
https://glitch.com/edit/#!/choose-your-own-adventure-gamec
For my final project, I decided to work on a Choose Your Own Adventure game. This game used Javascript to get the flow of the game working, and has a split path at the end. I wanted to make something in a similar style to old-school adventure games where players picked certain prompts to get different actions done, and had win/loss scenarios play out when things didn’t go right.

Week 3 Assignment - Switch Conditionals and Constants
https://editor.p5js.org/Sagek/sketches/GmTxDiTUr For this week’s assignment, I added a color variant switcher to the smiling face on the field image I created for last week’s assignment. I wasn’t too sure on how to make a slider that goes through specific color variations, so I instead decided to use the RGB color sliders, but only worked on getting Green to slide to change the color of the sky. Changing around the red and blue values made the sky look off, so I decided against using those for it. By changing the color of the sky, the field ends up looking like it’s nighttime, or morning depending on what the user chooses to make it.

Week 2 Assignment: Interactive Sketch
For this week’s assignment, I created a code where a smiley face gets drawn onto the map, which has a sky and grass background. This smiley face follows the user’s mouse. I had some trouble figuring out how to get the right proportions for the line that was used for the face’s mouth while getting it to follow the mouth, but it ended up working out all right.

Week 2 Assignment: Finding a Website
For this week’s assignment, I found Matter.js to be a particularly interesting website that engages its users. It uses Javascript to create a physics engine, and the user is allowed to move around certain objects to see how they interact with the things surrounding it. I found it to be very well-made, and shows off the potential of Javascript pretty well!

Week 1: p5 Web Editor Self-Portrait For this week’s assignment, I decided to create an image of my face using the shape functions in the web editor. While the assignment didn’t literally have to be one’s own face, I felt like doing this would help me get a feel for the program while also trying to see how I can represent myself, even if the end result is simplistic. I primarily used the circle tool for this assignment, changing around the colors to represent certain features, like my eyes or hair, and the triangle tool to get my nose and mouth. By starting with the bottom layers (the face) first, and then working to things that show up on front, like the mouth, all the features end up being visible.
