Honestly, if I can make just one person feel loved, or important or like they matter or that they can get through something hard, then I’ve accomplished something I’m proud of.

In mine and many other east Asian cultures, the dragon traditionally symbolises things like power, wealth and strength (imperial symbol and all)
I think we often forget that in the story of the Great Race, the dragon came in fifth because it'd stopped to give people rain. Then it'd stopped again to push a rabbit adrift on a log across the wide river so it reached the shore safely (that's why the Rabbit year comes before the Dragon).
Dragons aren't meant to just be powerful - they are meant to do good with such power, and to help those in need.
So in this lunar new year, I hope you gain more power, so that you might be able to help others. I pray you have abundant resources so you may give to yourself and those around you. I wish you courage, endurance, kindness and generosity, for yourself and your people.
I hope you, and I, will be rain givers, life preservers, joy bringers.
I hope we will be dragons.

“If just one lesbian, hidden in her hole somewhere in the deepest provinces, finds out through me that one can be a lesbian and still be happy, that there is neither shame, nor anguish, nor despair in our condition, then I will have won my challenge.”

lesbians I love you forever I know the level of lesbophobia online and in real life can be so disheartening but there are so many of us who love lesbians and lesbianism and the complete exclusion of men in our sexuality and we don't feel trapped in a box or like we're holding back some weird inherent urge. you will find your people and be happy. I promise 💝 and just for the avoidance of doubt I explicitly include trans women in lesbianism.

I know European Starlings are not everybody’s favourite in America (for good reason, and I know it is not the bird’s fault), but can we for a moment sit down and admire their most beautiful plumage?
