Althea Turns 1 Haul

Here I am, as promised.

*Please forgive my first photo, I was running late and end-of-story* 

I am going to start my review of these products from the base and working through setting my look.

Just to let you know I have Oily/Combination skin, pimple scars and one BIG chicken pox scar (I was young and stupid, and it was really itchy). I am going to start with… 

Banila co.: Prime Primer (Classic Matte)

It is whitish-opaque with a gel-like consistency, and gives-off a mild citrusy scent (If you don’t like these kind of scents, like me, don’t worry it's tolerable and disappears almost immediately after application). Once you apply it, it instantly mattifies your face and leaves a satin smooth finish. Your pores are somewhat blurred, but still noticeable.

Chica-y-Chico: Matt Cushion (Mat Fix)

It’s big and bulky, not very bag space-saver friendly. The design though, looks sleek and simple (in a good way). I struggled opening this one, almost broke it too. Alas! I finally figured-out how to open it, just press the GLOSSY LITTLE RECTANGULAR SHAPE DESIGN at the side of the compact. Upon opening, it contains a mirror, an application sponge, sponge (aka cushion, where the cream is stored) with its own plastic cover to keep the mixture from drying-out and hygienic purposes too, maybe. 

The one I bought was No. 23 (Medium beige). This is their darkest shade, and it is still a shade or two lighter than my skintone. Thankfully, overtime it gradually blended with my skintone (I will never go out  immediately after I applied this, maybe I’ll wait an hour before I do, just so to let it blend.)  For the coverage, it’s okay, though you can still see my pores and some pimple marks. I just applied a layer and added more makeup on my dark spots and some pimple marks. It has a very slight sticky feeling when I touch my face. Compared with BB creams, Mat fix was less dewy but still gave me that glow.

Application, with this product you have to use the application sponge that comes along with it and pat in into your face (technically called stamping). Gradually start coating your skin, all the while blending it as well. This is what I love about this product, if only they had more shades. 

Etude House: Color my Brows #02 (Natural Brown)

I had my hair colored brown, this really matched my hair. This looks like a colored mascara, really tinted my brows. and as you can see from my 3rd photo, it really lasted a long time. But, *yup there is a BUT*, I can’t quite get the hang of just using this, after all, it does say “COLOR MY BROWS” and not “SHAPE MY BROWS”. I still had to use my go-to eyebrow powder for shaping and filling-in my brows, since this product only tinted my eyebrows and also helped in filling-in my brows.

I almost forgot, I don’t know if it’s just me or maybe the camera, but I probably will not use this at night, especially with the camera flash ON. It made me look like a had NO Freakin’ Eyebrows. After all the hard work I’ve put through just to get my brows camera ready.

Witch’s Pouch: My Lip Love Guage (I Think you)

I had this for free, as a complementary gift from ALTHEA  during their first anniversary. At first I didn’t like it that much, it crumbled a bit when I applied it. I didn’t know that it was that delicate compared to other lipsticks I have. For me one swipe is enough, rich in color and has a moist and smooth texture after application. Like I said it’s delicate, you turn it only once or twice, do not put it out too much. Swipe it lightly on your lips and if you try to turn it back the lipstick won’t go back down, just lightly press it on your hand.

Don’t like glossy lips? It is a little bit glossy at first but after a while the gloss disappears but the color stays. It kept my lips moist for hours. Just so you know I have dry lips, so I need to use lip balm at least 5 mins before I put on my lipstick, with this I did not have to do that. The scent is really great, I does smell yummy, I could just eat it up.

*in the third photo, I erased the lipstick, I forgot I was doing a blog about it. When I brush my teeth I also brush my lips after, that’s why.*

W. Lab: Sebum Out Finish Powder (Loose)

It’s white and somewhat coarse. I was expecting it to be like baby powder smooth and soft, but no. I guess maybe because it contains jewelry mixture powder, that’s why. I only applied it on my T-zone and on my chin. If I do try to touch my T-zone and compare it to the parts of my face, which I did not apply the finishing powder, it feels kinda coarse but soft and at the same time. I really don’t know how to explain it. It’s not bad, I like touching my T-zone. HAHA. 

All this mattifiers and my skin still oils-up.

UNBOXING OF ALTHEA BEAUTY BOX

What can I say? It was already unboxed/opened before I even had the chance.

To that someone (I seriously don’t know who) I say this to you “Thank you for ruining it for me”

When I received my first order from Althea it was already unsealed, as you can see. I did not open that pink plastic cover. I went from ecstatic to disappointed. Although, it was opened, all my orders were complete and authentic. I would still order though, but I hope next time it wouldn’t be like this.

*Let’s pretend that the box was never opened*

I received the box, it was bubble wrapped and was inside this pink plastic cover. It had my information stuck on top.

*Unwrapping the box*

The box itself : It has this soft velvety feel. Ruined by the (GOD knows how it happened but it did) disfigured edges, someone must have been really curious about what I ordered. *Calm down guys! I did not order an item for mass destruction. or did I???* *cue drumroll*

*Tada!* Everything is bubble wrapped with pink papers as fillers.

*YEY! more bubble wrap*

As you can see everything is “A-OKAY!” Except for the box though. Nonetheless, you did a good job BOX, you protected my items. What I ordered:
