The game treats the brooch as a separate item (brc) for Jennifer's default player character model. And then there's the unused 絆のブローチ “Bond Brooch” item.
In-game, it disappears during “The Gingerbread House," “Stray Dog and the Lying Princess," and “Once Upon a Time…” chapters.
I've been revisiting RoR lately, and I just found this blog. Thank you so much for your passion and effort towards this project, it's really appreciated! I spent most of my afternoon browsing the blog, and I'm so happy there's still people like you dedicated to this beautiful game. ♥
Apologies for the late reply, but I'm glad you've enjoyed my Tumblr! :D It's been fun putting together the clues hidden inside the game!
I just wanted to ask you to not be discouraged if you don’t get a huge amount of notes on your posts. Rule of Rose is an obscure game, but those of us who have played it love it so deeply and are forever obsessed with it.
I’m so thankful for your work and please don’t stop!
Also, are you acquainted with the Rule of Rose Mysteries blog?
Haha, don't worry! I'm used to it. Game hacking is a bit of a niche interest; let alone older, obscure games.
Yes, I used to browse Rule of Rose Mysteries! Contrary to popular belief, I am not affiliated with it. However, my early unused weapons vid did get an analysis post there.
While doing the previous request, I noticed some text for Hoffman's portrait went unused. In the first chapter, there's "old" descriptions for all the objects you can look at in the main Orphanage hallway entrance. The one for the painting accidentally went unused. I've corrected it in the bottom image.
My WIP of that unused Wendy event without any scene or camera instructions. I timed the audio and you can see how well that line works with Wendy’s mouth movements.
To do:
Position and time the models better
Add sfx and maybe some different camera angles
Place them outside the onion bag room since I think that’s where it happens
Oh my goodness, thank you for making the storybooks from the official site accessible for everyone. I recall trying to download them about a year ago and the pages they hosted on were inaccessible. I may have done something wrong but, regardless, thank you.
No problem! :D You didn’t do anything wrong. The official site didn’t link to them correctly.
Hey there, I'm Alvin and I really like this game after playing a copy on PCSX2 emulator. Is there any way to get the models from the game? I tried with Ninja Ripper and RipperDX but that worked out awful. Please tell me if there's a way to obtain them. Thanks in advance! :D
I don’t know how to rip the models. There’s a quickbms script that’ll rip the files. However, the 3D models appear in a weird format (that might be modified .i3d’s) that are placed inside, bizarrely, a .mdl folder.
Because I get this question a lot, I’ll be referring any future ones about it to this post. If I see someone release a script for the models, I’ll let you guys know.
