The reason why I picked this artists is the way he structured his piece with windows coming out of the building and the colours that are used. It really gives me inspiration to copy some bits of the work which would be a good idea for the type of theme that I am going for. The background gives out all the attention to the building because the building that you can see by it are not similar and it gives more attention to detail.

The reason why i picked this artist was because they do resemble the type of patterns that i am looking for to go on my buildings that I am creating. The colours are very stunning to look at because the colours go well with each other. I'm inspired by the amount o effort that has been put into it which looks extraordinary. I would take so much time to create a bunch of patterns for the windows and doors which is why I'm only going to do a little amount just so it reflects on my work. The structure of the building and the design good an amazing aesthetic.

I’ve picked this guys and he is from Jordanian and he is Palestinian. The reason why I picked him was he has amazing patterns that he designed and created that gave me Inspiration for the different details I should do. He’s very good at showing the building in a specific way such as showing it’s cultural side. The colours that he uses are amazing because they go so well with each other and the structure of the building makes them look beautiful and unique. He really expands his mind by drawing out what goes well and what he can improve to make sure that the areas that he is presenting the piece fits well with the whole atmosphere. I’ve done similar drawings which does give of similar ideas which I can take bits and piece in my FMP.

SPRAY PAINTING:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When spray painting outside of college is was very windy and the cardboard was just flying all over the place and the spray would touch my fingers which was unsafe. It wasn’t a great day to do it and the spray paint was getting absorbed from the cardboard because of the ink and making it look green on the edge. It was better when I did it in the other room with the machine which actually absorbed the smell and was much more safer.

LASER CUTTER MODULE THAT HAVE GONE WRONG:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are all the fails that I have done so far. In the back of all of them they all of spray paint and the reason behind it was that someone suggested it to me. Which I wasn’t thinking ahead because spray paint can actually set things on fire and make my work become a mess. So my tutor and I decided to not waste cardboard and use the other side which the laser cutter decided to mess around and still didn’t want to outcome that I wanted. We tried many measurements of how much power I should do because the first module was amazing and fine which was 40 power and when I tried it again it failed. The pieces that were going wrong was the details because they are very detailed and small so it’s probably because of that. So I put it all the way down to 5 because I was playing it safe and just cut of the piece that needed to be cut.

Wrong setting but safe options with spray paint cardboard.:

10 Exhibition Analysis
Rafael Gomez Barros : Casa Tomada
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though I’m not a fan of insect this is a really cool design. It would give the affect from a far distance that they are real which is impressive. The fact they are made bigger and put in different areas of a city does really give an outstanding point of view such as thinking the ants are taking over. If I were to do this piece, I would not only put ants but potentially but other insects or make the background instead plain more live there habitat if in a gallery.

Is This Real Art by Imbue (2019)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Is This Real Art” is a very curious title that really questions if an art work has been made, is it truly a standard piece that can be shown to the world. The concept of his work is to show if his work is inspiring and engaging to look at. For me, I was really interested in the Coca Cola art piece because the way the person and the bottle emerges together does give a captivating point of view. I feel like it’s trying to communicate and reflect if art is being down graded to the content that everything could be made and be put in a gallery just for show and not interest. And without having any meaning and dedication to putting an effort of what an artist does just makes the piece less noticeable and worthless to look at. But this artist really shows the dedication of how he’s trying to communicate his work and give a sense for the viewers to rethink their lives.

DECORATIONS:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the items that I will be presenting in my exhibition along side with the buildings I am making. When buying the lights I didn't know they could change into different colours. So, I had to buy another one which was only orange. I bought two packages of the leaves which were 7.5m long. Which than, I am going to cut it into piece to make them drape down the ceiling. The flowers are going to be attached to the leaves and the building, to make the piece more vibrant. But I didn’t really think about the size because of thought they were going to be big but they came out unexpectedly.

FIRST HAND PRACTICAL MODULE:
Tumblr media
I went to the architecture department and I talked to the teacher that could teach me how to make the building by hand. And it was really tricky at first because there was a lot of measuring and steps but I checked on YouTube for more help and started to kind of know how to work everything out.
The building that is by the module are the first two buildings that i have made with a laser cutter and hand made. The one that it darker is hand made and the one on the left is with the laser cutter. They both are different in design, layout, one is very tidy and the other is rough.

LASER CUTTER EXPERIMENTATION :
When looking for a space to spray paint we went to a room which had a machine which took away the smell of the paint so that I wouldn’t have any breathing problems. And it was really safe because I had a shield in front of me and put the newspaper around so it doesn’t get to messy. This was my first spray paint tester and as I let the paint dry it wasn’t enough for one layer because I could still see bits and pieces of the main colour cardboard. So I will have to two layers instead of one.

BUILDING MEASUREMENTS
Tumblr media
These are the first measurements that I wanted my building to be. But I will be making more different sizes so that it could be used for my destruction side and the beauty. It will be hard to find cardboard in those exact measurements, so if I get a maximum building of the measurements that should be fine. Some would be smaller or bigger than the others which is exactly what I am looking for.

LASER CUTTER MEASUREMENTS/ TO DO LIST:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When getting the checklist, I first write down the checklist on my sketchbook because than I can visually know what needs to be done first and what days I can do them. But when getting the checklist, it’s much more easier because I can go down the list and tick which ones I have done and not.

PRACTICAL/ DIGITAL VISUAL EXPERIMENT FOR IDEAS/ CONCEPTS:
First digital experimentation:
Tumblr media
This was my first module tester on illustrator. I had no idea how to put together bits and pieces of the building until I had help from my tutor from the second module. They gave me tips on how to get the details equal the same and how big I should layer it out. So that it could fit on the cardboard and the laser cutter.
Second module experimentation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This module was actually made from with my tutor. I wanted to quickly put something together so that I could check the measurements for the laser cutter. For how powerful the cutting will be and if the details would visual show.
Third module experimentation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When doing the two testers, I finally knew how to set up the everything from the measurements and the details. When using the laser cutter, it wasn’t going well because the details were kind of falling apart from different parts of the patterns so I knew what had to change. Then I used the spray paint to see how visible the patterns would be so that I could go over it. But then I showed it to my tutor and they kind of gave me the idea of spray painting first than doing the laser cutter because than I would see more of the detailed lines.
