he’d  usually  charge  people  who  wanted  to  get  in  contact  with  their  loved  ones,  no  exceptions.  but  the  way  josey’s  asking  brings  klaus  a  sense  of  familiarity,  he  remembers  how  his  siblings  would  ask  him  to  speak  with  ben  right  after  his  passing.  he  was  a  vessel  to  give  grieving  people  closure,  mooching  off  of  josey  felt  wrong.  “  alright,  alright―i’ll  do  my  best,  but  i  can’t  guarantee  anything.  some  spirits  are  stubborn  sons  of  bitches.  ”  lucky  for  josey,  he’s  somewhat  sober.  well,  sober  enough  to  use  his  powers.

a sigh of relief                   the embarrassment is still lingering, but he’s glad he got the initial apprehension out of the way. now the new concern   :   what if she doesn’t answer at all ? what if she’s gone   ...   forever ?   if the kid had a heart,   it would be beating a mile a minute.   little paws press up against his leg as a calico meows for attention. she knows, and she wants to help. josey scoops the cat up into his arms, the bell of her little collar jingling along.        “       for real, man, i can’t thank you enough,       ”   josey says. eyes are full of newfound hope, though it’s easy to distinguish the nervousnesses behind it. even as lilycat presses her forehead into his face, that anxiety refuses to calm down.   “       i don’t                   i didn’t know who else to turn to.       ”
