Movie Reaction - Pirates of Silicon Valley

The factors that contributed to Steve Jobs's success were his belief in himself, not losing his trust in himself that he could do it, and his confidence and his mindset to dominate the computer world.

The factors that contributed to his failure are when he got big and his head got so big, instead of becoming a leader he became a boss who didn't care about his employees anymore to get what he wanted. He became so abusive even to his family.

As a Technopreneur I would follow the path that Steve Jobs took but not his way of leading his people, just because I succeeded I would not let my Ego get too high and I would not let my head get too big. I would focus more on inclusivity and the quality of my workspace. It is a great career path, full of challenges but I will only follow his career path, not his way of leading.

Movie Reaction - 3 Idiots

The Three Main Characters in the movie are Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad or Phunsuk Wangdu, Raju Rastogi, and Farhan Qureshi.

I would describe Rancho as a shackle-less man as he can be what he wants, he is someone who can't be stopped by someone's opinion of him. He chased his passion instead of someone else's passion. He can't be controlled by the school system.

Raju for me is someone who is always depending on a God and he is not even doing anything for himself, he is afraid of what can happen tomorrow so all he thinks is what will happen in the future so he doesn't enjoy what happens in the present.

Farhan is like your friend who will do anything together with you even if it is something crazy, he is afraid to follow his passion and dream to become a professional photographer because of what his parents wanted him to be and that is to be an engineer.

But in the end, Farhan and Raju choose to be what they want and not what others want.

The character that I want to be in Rancho because I want to be as free as him, I want to be free from the system, and I want to be a Genius and a troublemaker at the same time. Rancho inspired me to stop pressuring myself, Be Adventurous, and explore Don't just cram blindly. Not all answers can be seen from textbooks, you just need to explore your surroundings. His "All is well" also inspired me to stop the pressure I'm putting on myself.

Think Outside The Box

In our first Discussion, our Facilitator gave us an activity of connecting the 3x3 dots with just 4 lines. However, he added a challenge he said "connecting the 3x3 dots with 4 lines without lifting your pen. I tried so many times but I could not get it, I was still thinking inside the box. When our Facilitator finally showed us how to connect all the lines, I was so dumbfounded of how easy it was yet I was having a difficult time but all you have to do is to think outside the box.

I have now understood that limiting your mind or limiting your view can be a shackle of what you are truly capable of, it can limit your ability and skills and it can also limit your performance. In everything that we do always think outside the box. Be Innovative.
