I just noticed the awesome move of Riz never attempting a relaxation track. Really everyone should do one like how Gorgug Fig and Kristen did where you just roll at the end no matter how unlikely in case you crit. But like of course Riz, who’s main character trait is being a workaholic and who like Murph said earlier can’t stop because if he stops then that’s when he’ll break, and would never even attempt one.

Like it’s such a subtle thing because everyone does both mystery rolls and hasn’t relaxed that much but it’s noticeable that Riz does mystery rolls as a treat and as the fun thing after his responsibilities are over.

Both the way that this downtime system focuses on where your attention and priorities are and the reminder of how important not engaging with certain mechanics can be a powerful role playing tool.

Idk it’s just reminds me to remember to keep in mind what my character would focus on and try even if there is no penalty for trying and there is incentive to do it. In ttrpgs sometimes what you don’t do is just as important as what you do.

unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.

i think that killing a dragon should have catastrophic nuclear-fallout level environmental consequences tbh. their blood should scorch and wither the earth with fire and poison, the toxic fumes released as they decay should choke the land and all nearby living creatures, and the entire landscape where they fell should be transformed into a blighted wasteland where bleached leviathan bones loom upwards out of the ground as a warning that can be seen from miles away, the boundary markers of an exclusion zone.
