PSA for trans men, trans mascs, and enbies & intersex folks on T:
Your injections should AT WORST feel like a hard pinch if you hit a vein on accident. It should NOT sting the whole time, itch, be tender for more than a day, and should not cause significant bruising.
I was not told this when I started, and missed that I was allergic to my shots for the first 2 months I was on T. There is more than one type of oil, and the type of T they prescribe most often is more likely to have allergic reactions. You should not have to suffer more just to get your boy juice. You can also gain allergies over time, so if you start experiencing these symptoms, check in with your doctor!

Scientists at UC Riverside have demonstrated a new, RNA-based vaccine strategy that is effective against any strain of a virus and can be used safely even by babies or the immunocompromised.  Every year, researchers try to predict the four influenza strains that are most likely to be prevalent during the upcoming flu season. And every year, people line up to get their updated vaccine, hoping the researchers formulated the shot correctly. The same is true of COVID vaccines, which have been reformulated to target sub-variants of the most prevalent strains circulating in the U.S. This new strategy would eliminate the need to create all these different shots, because it targets a part of the viral genome that is common to all strains of a virus. The vaccine, how it works, and a demonstration of its efficacy in mice is described in a paper published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.  “What I want to emphasize about this vaccine strategy is that it is broad,” said UCR virologist and paper author Rong Hai. “It is broadly applicable to any number of viruses, broadly effective against any variant of a virus, and safe for a broad spectrum of people. This could be the universal vaccine that we have been looking for.”

not to sound old fashioned or whatever but getting rid of payphones is a mistake, and the only reason we should do it is if we're replacing them with free, public use phones. Having the ability to reach out to others in every place of public congress and transit is an important safety feature and the advent and adoption of smartphones does not negate their utility.
I know i've already lost this battle, so it's somewhat pointless to say, but smartphones die. chargers aren't always there. smartphones break. some people don't have them. Being able to call someone and ask for help, to get in touch with friends and family, without relying on something you yourself own, is a societal good.
Furthermore, expecting everybody to have a single piece of fragile technology on them at all times to the point that critical services are not available without them is truly mind-boggling to me. This goes for things like restaurant menus and transit maps as well. you should be able to navigate the world without a brick made by Apple or Samsung, and if you can't, then something is fundamentally broken. It's one thing for new technology to augment an existing real-world experience, it's another thing to usurp it entirely.

what is it like to be a person born or created or whatever in eskew (assuming, of course, that they actually are people and not just human-shaped dolls for the city to play around with), i mean, would they experience the endless nightmares and just kind of accept them as business as usual? not recognize anything out of the ordinary at all? or would they be relatively aware of their unfortunate predicament?
I think we don't get to know that either way, because the whole show is wrapped up in David's paranoia, survivalist incuriosity, and self-centredness, and the nature of Eskew itself reflects his mindset.
As far as David is concerned, everyone in Eskew is assumed to be a human-shaped doll that only acts to go through the motions of modern living or to spitefully torment or thwart him, until every so often someone surprises him by demonstrating their (apparent) awareness of their condition.
In the show, side characters do occasionally react with 'normal' terror instead of apathy towards something awful that's happening in Eskew (usually to them), but does that make them awake, or is this just another part of the ever-changing performance for David's benefit? He doesn't know, so we can't know.

The science behind THC + alcohol as a combination is literally soo interesting because it basically causes the crimson red duckling in your body to confront the serpent in the bronze vessel of your heart. Basically you feel good because the duckling is able to eat the harmonious seeds stored within the vessel and transfer these positive energies into your body. You can have bad highs when this happens if the duckling awakens the serpent and it bites the duckling. The interesting part is when you ingest alcohol after THC because it floods the vessel and causes the serpent to fall into a deep sleep. The duckling never gets attacked by the serpent when this happens because it is unconscious and the duckling is actually able to get fat from the harmonious seed, which causes an enjoyable sensation.
