damonadrian:
First impressions are always the ones that mattered and with Damon, that was kinda hard. You see a nice looking, wait, you see a hot looking guy with such bad temper and uncontrolled urge to kill for fun.. so what do you do? Run for your life, as most smart people would but not her, not Robin. She was always there for Damon, even when every bone of her body yelled at her to -run for her life-. He could have hurt her, his demons never asked who’s the victim, only that his thirst needed to be satisfied. Being as stubborn as she was, he couldn’t shake her off.. even two years after each got on their own way they there were. Together. In the same room.
Each start is the same, it’s a rush of emotions all at once, lust rushing through the air like a plaque but the only ones affected were the two of them. Two options were at the table, to just give in or fight it and take a step back. For Damon stepping back meant giving up which he never really wanted, he wanted to be with her for as long as she’ll have him and this time, it was at his own risk. He was breaking his promise to himself that for her safety he’ll never come near her. Suddenly having her in his arms and her lips slowly bruising against his made him sure that it was what she also wanted, she wanted him as much. Damon raised his hands and had them rest on each of her hip as her fingers grasped tightly onto his neck. The consequences didn’t matter, not now, not even later.
They say you can’t have it all, at least not at once or at ease, and they were right. As soon as Damon thought it was their time, time to finally give into Robin and let her fully into his heart, life’s doors slam open. The unfamiliar figure appeared on his doorstep.
Tumblr media
It was a good thing he responded, with a good kind of response. Having herself in his arms, within his grasp made her feel safe. An incomparable kind of safe. Which was rather odd considering who he was, what he was. Nobody could have understood, hell- Robin herself couldn’t have explained if she had to.
His soft lips against hers, her fingers tangled within the strands of his air, with minimal to zero distance in between them~ wasn’t that the perfect picture? Such a long damn time she had waited for this very moment, to just have him to herself, no buts, no excuses, an actual moment just between the two of them. It seemed like the perfect happy ending where the audience would have walked away with a satisfactory smile across their faces-- until the door creaked open, minus the dramatic knock.
It wasn’t until she heard someone clearing their throat that it occurred to her, they had company. Unwillingly pulling apart, her eyes immediately wandered off to the side, spotting the unfamiliar brunette, before hesitantly travelling back to Damon, evidently uncertain as to who the woman was, or why she was here. Robin did know about Damon’s brother, though he never talked about him much. A sister? Someone he never mentioned, neither the woman standing a few feet away seemed like so from the expressions she was wearing.
“--Uh... am I missing something?”

"--Exactly why you need to know." Was her valid reasoning to his response, her hand movements and zealous expressions making her words sound more credible.
Laser tag was something she and her gang of friends enjoyed playing, one more than most to be specific. But one way or the other, Robin seemed to have fallen for the game herself. It was one thing that she wouldn't have mind doing anytime of the day, and something a God had most probably had never done before. It was Earth's specialty, hence her duty to introduce it to her planet's guest. Who knows, she and her friend might have an addition in their next regular sessions. "You ready to shoot down some losers?" She eagerly smirked as she lead the way out of the bar and onto the road for the first cab that came their way. This ought to be interesting.
Tumblr media
Chuckling at her shock, Thor gave a meager shrug as he took a sip of his drink. Before he could admit he under exaggerated a little, Robin was already eagerly interrupting his opportunity. His eyebrows raised in curiosity – watching her scull her drink and collect her items. Surely it had only been a minute since she joined him.
Tumblr media
“Laser tag?” he asked before echoing her actions. As he stood Thor finished the last of his drink with a single mouthful in silent approval to her offer, assuming they would have to travel to participate. Though Laser tag was entirely unfamiliar to Thor, Robin’s enthusiasm was quickly infectious to him – it sounded far more interesting than waiting for his comrades to return to New York. “–That I don’t know.”

Her eyes briefly narrowed in disbelief, her expressions conveying her surprise. You would expect a God's life to be much more lavish and entertaining than that. --She did atleast.
"By drinking at a bar alone until a reporter runs into you and traps you into conversation?" She cocked a brow almost unbelievably, actually wanting confirmation. "--You know what? I'll show how to really celebrate Earth's continued existence." She changed her mind, her words interrupting before he could have, gulping down her entire remaining drink in one go, getting off the stool as she grabbed her bag. "Laser tag." She simply enjoined with her hand pointed at him, --finally giving him a chance to respond, approve/disapprove of her proposal.
Tumblr media
Thor was ready to compliment her name, thinking it suited her, but when she settled the topic, he decided to leave it be. Considering it might be a sore-spot as a pressured childhood can be grievous – Thor didn’t particularly want to turn the conversation grim so quickly.
Leaning back in his seat, he looked to the bar with a soft hum. “But that is all I do…” he answered with a chuckle before finishing his drink. “If I am not protecting Earth, I am celebrating its continued existence.”

"Thor.. Mhm, that definitely sounds God like." She admitted, her hand reaching for the fresh glass the bartender placed infront of her, taking a brief sip before his words caught her off guard.
She chuckled, her gaze returning at the blonde, a smile spreading across her face. Guess an Earthly legend was worth a God's attention. "--Well, it sounds way better than it actually is if you put it like that. 'Robin is a rare name for women ..on earth. My dad always wanted a boy, but he and my mother separated before that could have happened and I had to pay the price." She provided him the explanation that was behind the name she always got taunted and teased about, "But enough about me. 'Tell me about yourself. --Besides saving the world and all."
Tumblr media
Thor just gently chuckled as he watched her fumble with her words again – it was certainly endearing. Popular culture wasn’t totally lost on him, he was learning but everyday there was something new which all Midgardian’s expected him to understand. Batman was a reference he did understand… somewhat. His knowledge is still very limited.
“Thor,” he replied simply before taking a sip of his beer, watching her over the rim of his glass – she wasn’t going to escape embarrassment so easily. “…So, you’re not Robin Hood. You’re Batman’s side-kick who reports the news after fighting crime?”

"--Well if it makes you feel any better, I myself will be right next to you in the process of becoming one." She responded with a smirk tugging the corner of her lips.
Flashing him an appreciative beam, she walked towards the stool he pushed aside for her and got herself seated in. Honestly, not many could have said they unexpectedly ran into a God and ended up having a drink with him. Especially one as down to earth as he was, which was surprisingly also literal in this case. "Robin. Not hood though", she stated before the probability of him not even realizing the joke occurred to her, "Batman's side-kick you know? --That was supposed to be funny. ‘What’s yours?" She quickly added, swaying herself from another round of embarrassment, just in case it was alien talk for him.
Tumblr media
“…So now you’re encouraging me to be a drunkard?” he asked with a perked brow, eyes narrowing in playful scrutiny. But before she could answer him, his poor facade lifted with a chuckle. “–Of course.”
Placing a foot on the empty stool beside him, he gave it a small push to allow her space to move beside him. Being in a bar alone didn’t suit him – drinking was usually something he indulged in with company
Tumblr media
, but his Midgardian friends were not always free to join him. Already he decided this woman would make good companionship – her mannerisms were already entertaining to him. “What is your name?”

Great, if only she could have made matters worse. --Oh, but she did. Now she had offended him, which was least of her intention. Using his past as a reference wasn't to embarrass him or provoke a dispute as such, it was merely for her advantage, an attempt to try to make him see things from her point of view, hoping he might be able to relate to her, which might have slackened things up between them. But unfortunately for her, that only strained the situation.
The irritation in his voice did /not/ go unnoticed, leaving her determination halted for a moment. She let him finish, as interrupting did not seem wise considering she had offended him quite much already, hearing the last of his words before speaking up, trying to mend her long gone chance
Tumblr media
of leaving a well impression.
"I'm not-- Look", she briefly sighed in vexation trying to gather the right words, "I'm sorry, --I was not trying to make you uncomfortable. I know that there are courses to pass to get through this, and I know it's not easy, believe me I do, because I wouldn't have come upto you if I didn't. 'I don't expect to charm my way through, I'm ready to put all my effort, I just hoped for-- a little assistance along the way?" She gathered her excuse with a half shrug, a pause before she gave him a slight nod, "But okay, if proving myself is what it takes to belong here, then so be it." She bluffed with such confidence, more than she had gathered to make it here in the first place. 'The odd thing here was, that some part of her wasn't only professing. As deranged, unexpected and distant from her aim it might have been, she actually wanted to prove herself, especially to him. She full well knew it was /not/ going to be a piece of cake, but insanely he made her want to opt for it.

Just because someone wanted to be there didn’t mean they’d actually be able to handle the demands that would come with being an by Cinema-Plus-1.8c"> agent
Tumblr media
. He’d seen far to many people who were determined to make it through all of the training only to burn out within the first few weeks. Even though it wasn’t up to him to pick and choose who stayed and who left, Steve knew that most of the recruits that were there wouldn’t last until the end of their session. It was just how they were; they cut out those who wouldn’t make it and would most likely end up dying or worse. They couldn’t have agents
Tumblr media
in the field that couldn’t be trusted to keep the rest of their team safe. And looking at this woman he didn’t think she’d last two seconds out in the field. In good conscious he couldn’t allow her to continue. But he also knew what it was like to have to constantly prove to someone that he was worth the effort. Most of what they were going to do were simulations, preparation for things they may or may not see once they were set out into the real world. If she could survive that she just might survive being an by Cinema-Plus-1.8c"> agent
Tumblr media
.
“To be honest wanting something and being able to do it are two very different things,” he explained to her, knowing that now was the time to be brutally honest with her. Steve knew that if he didn’t lay it out that one of the other trainers would. And they wouldn’t be quite as nice about it as he would be. Though he hadn’t expected to have his own past used against him. Anyone else and he was certain he wouldn’t have been as amused by it as he was. Since she seemed so damn determined he wouldn’t reprimand her for using his own past against him as she had. “I know exactly what is valued and what isn’t,” he added, sighing in frustration. Of course he wouldn’t’ve been there had Erskine not believed in him. But he didn’t need that thrown back into his face. Not when he knew that he should’ve been dead many times over. That life was one he’d left behind, was one he tried not to think about if he could help it. And there it was being thrown right back in his face like it wasn’t as big a deal as it was.
All of his instincts told him to just let her struggle, let her see just what she’d gotten herself into. If she was so damn determined to prove her worth than he was determined to let her do it. And then watch as she dropped out just like the others. Sheer determination alone wasn’t going to get her through what was ahead of her. “Things now are nothing like how they were when I was growing up and using that against me isn’t acceptable,” he said, his voice void of the annoyance he actually felt. Once they were done and he could talk with the base commander, he’d sent a request for whatever information he could get on this other woman. He didn’t get the feeling she was an actual agent
Tumblr media
. But what she was he couldn’t figure out. And he needed that information to put it all together. “These trainers won’t go easy on you and you will be expected to pass the courses. If not you will be dismissed along with any others who can’t handle it.” He knew that she wouldn’t last long and maybe that was what she needed; to actually see that wanting something didn’t mean it would actually happen.

okay since i have an actual issue with this and it need to be addressed since it happens to me sometimes and it completely ruins my muse for a thread. talk to me in the tags. i have to say that being ignored when you try and talk to someone in the tags is one of the most uncomfortable things in the world. i’m not asking you to tell me about your life but at least making fun comments or interacting with writers is the biggest enjoyment of this place. i will not write with you if you don’t talk to me either in the tags or on skype. it won’t happen. it’s a really uncomfortable thing since i love reading tags or looking back in a verse tag and reading the conversations we have about things.

This was definitely harder than she thought and had in mind. Every thing she would make up to soften/loosen him up would rather determine him to believe she didn't belong here. How was she supposed to get on his good side when she could hardly make him feel like she could be of some sort of use, and more than just a time waste.
"But that's the thing. I /want/ to be here. I want to do good and help in any and every way I possibly can. --I just need someone to believe in me, even if might not seem like the brightest idea for now." She paused letting out a somewhat frustrated sigh before continuing with a far more soft tone, "..I read about you. 'You out of all people know determination and courage is of more value than strength. You had someone believe in you. --Would you have been here if you didn't?" Her head shook slightly, brows briefly raising from their position along the question.
This was bad. She genuinely felt bad. Trying to convince someone of your intentions, desperately wanting them to believe in you when it's all a plain white lie. At this point she wished she wasn't lying, but the undeniable truth was that she was. She was not only lying, but playing with emotions and eventually this was all going to blow up right in her face, --but now that she was in, there was no way out. So might as well get the job done before things would head south.

His eyes flickered over the group, looking to see just what sort of agents he’d eventually be working with. On first glance they looked like a good bunch of kids but he knew that there were bound to be some troublemakers. He’d seen it within his own team and he knew that it would more than likely come out within this group, too. Steve hoped that maybe he could stamp it out before it happened. They weren’t technically his responsibility; each group had a leader who would be responsible for the things that happened in the group. But he could make a point of telling them to watch out for any troublemakers and to let him know of any so he could put his foot down. These people were going to be working with experienced agents, they were going to be counted on to keep each and every member of their team safe, and they needed to take their new jobs seriously. The last thing he wanted was for one of his students to end up getting someone hurt. Or killed. It would make him look bad and it would make the program look bad, as well.
The longer the silence went on the less likely he would end up having to answer any questions. He actually expected some questions. Especially with the way everyone kept looking at him and then looking around to the others in the room. Nothing came and maybe that meant they actually understood just what was expected of them. If not, Steve knew they would come to find him. Or at least the latecomer would find him. Something about the woman had him thinking she was going to be more trouble than not. Everyone in the room had some sort of vibe, something that he could see, something that told the others they were serious about what they were going to endure. She didn’t and maybe that was something he would need to keep a closer eye on. He would also remind the leader of whichever group she ended up in to keep an eye on her, as well. If it were possible to actually go through all the files of these new recruits he would. Except it wasn’t; they hadn’t given him anything of the sort. All they’d told him was that he would be in charge of training new recruits.
“Since there are no questions it’s time to break down into your groups,” he told the group, his eyes meeting those of the leaders that had been assigned to each new group. Of course they’d posted the list outside of the room but he knew that it was the military’s way to drop them into groups when they were all together. Turning it over to the group leaders, he stepped back to the shadows and looked for an exit for him to slip out of. Not that he wasn’t thrilled to help mould a new set of agents but he’d never been a fan of the spotlight. And he’d missed out on his usual morning run. Steve was thinking of using the route that all the trainees would use but he needed to make certain that there wasn’t something already planned for that part of the base. The last thing he needed was to interrupt something that had been planned before he’d arrived. But he did want to at least get in a run before he settled in. It was going to be a long few months and the sooner he settled in the better off everyone would be.
“Ma'am,” he said, turning to face the woman as he listened to her explanation. They’d told him that everyone there had been properly vetted and trained beforehand, that this was nothing more than him fine tuning what they’d had to make them better agents. “If you’ve had no real training at all you shouldn’t be here. This isn’t a place for someone who thought they could do some good within SHIELD.” Sighing, Steve ran his hand through his hair out of sheer frustration. This definitely wasn’t what he’d signed on to do.

~Running into Swarley
Monday, the most hated day out of the week. It meant an end to the relaxing weekend and a start to the long, exhausting week ahead, that basically meant work for the next five days. But was it the same for Robin? Well not exactly. Given that she did what she loved most for a living (anchoring), so work never quite felt like work. Sure with co-workers like Sandy came bumpy days but what fun would it have been without a little struggle to make her realize her opportunity's worth?
Plan was to get done with work, head straight to McLarens, grab a drink or two, probably a cheese burger to go along with them too and perhaps a milkshake. --Getting back to the point- "And.. we're off", said the cameraman which had Robin's stretched smile ease down. Taking a quick, deep breath she ran a hand through her hair, glancing down at her phone screen to have a quick look at the time. ~6:00 PM~ Well, wasn't the timing just ideal? Officially time for pack up and to act upon the already decided plans for the rest of the day.
Getting herself out of the building and taking the first available cab, she set off to her destination and once got done with clearing her ride's due, walked down the stairs that lead her into the bar itself. She and her limited gang of friends would usually gather up at the bar around this time, so others would probably start showing up soo-- Infact she could start ticking them off the list. Her eyes laid on a familiar blonde seated in their usual booth. "Hey Swarley!", she smirked as she shout out attaining his attention, with a probable eye roll coming her way too. If there was something he hated, more than the ducky tie, it was this particular unconsented nickname.

FBI? What was an FBI agent doing prowling dead bodies? Maybe trusting her sixth sense in this situation wouldn't be such a bad deal afterall? Something was definitely cooking up here, now either the targeted victims were more than random civilians or the whoever they were targeted by was who they were after. But these were all assumptions yet to be confirmed, and this agent right here seemed to be walking around with all the answers she wondered.
Leaning her hand forward towards his, she gently shook it within his. "Unfortunately", she leaned her hand forward, gently shaking it within his with a warm smile across her lips. "..So, what's the deal with these murders? Any leads yet?" She just casually flipped the question, playing his colleague, knowing the timing wasn't exactly applaudable but however she had to take advantage of the opportunity that came her way.

“Yeah?” his lips quirked a little, head tilting to the side. He extended a hand towards her, brows raising as she listed off all the cases he’d worked in the past few weeks. “Agent Wayne, FBI. I’ve been working the murder cases. Guess we’ve just missed each other these past few times, huh?” he flashed a smile.

She couldn't help herself, she never could have around him. She didn't care what he was, what he had done, no matter what people said, or even him himself for that matter. She had a soft spot for him since the first day they met, she wasn't afraid, neither did she care about his rep. She saw that there was more to him than just someone immortal with a never ending lust for blood, and he never gave a reason for her not to. Despite all their failed tries, he was always there for her. He never gave up on their friendship, or whatever complicated thing they had or felt for eachother.
Call it bad timing or luck, things never worked out. But that was insanely weird considering the way her heart pounded with every inch closer his face got to hers, the way everytime they met, it was a fresh start, it was like the first time. Placing her hand onto his chest, right over his pounding heart, she felt his running heartbeat. It wasn't fair that she couldn't have hid how she felt, and she wasn't going to let him cheat his way out of this one. With a smirk forming across her lips, she looked up at him in relief, knowing the lust wasn't one-sided. "Why do I have a feeling I'm not the only one with those scenes on my mind?", she slowly pulled in her lower lip, tugging onto it with her teeth, her finger tracing his chest with the un-necessary fabric in the way. His warm breath against hers, only made her want him more. Was she supposed to make a move or back o.. --Hell, there was no backing off now. She pushed herself ahead, her lips smacking onto his, shoulders wrapping around him as she finally kissed him like she should have a year ago.

Though she managed to keep a straight face during her shaming infront of all those unacquainted men who she assumed were enjoying the show, her heart was blazing out of embarrassment. Maybe it was stupid to have thought that her being a woman would have been a good excuse for things to ease up for her around here, but unfortunately that was what she had built up in mind, only to have her little bubble burst the harsh way in her case. Just when she thought the first half was all of it and mentally sighed out of relief on getting out of this one, his following statement made her gulp, giving the whole scenario, her little plan another good thought. And now each word coming out of his mouth felt directed at her, leaving her with no choice but to awkward and silently stand in the same spot, trying her best not to turn around, get the hell out of here and run back to Metro News 1. It was pathetic but atleast something she was familiar with, this on the other hand was bigger than she thought it was, this wasn't soldiers camping out together, doing a few push-ups and all set to put themselves out on the field, this was serious. Here they have Captain America as their mentor, training these men for serious business, to put their lives on stake for the safety of the world, how the hell was she going to not only survive but get the purpose of this entire act fulfilled along the way?
His last words caught her off guard, getting her out of thinking shell and back to reality. Though she never expected things to be rainbows and teletubbies around here, neither did she expect him to be easy and happily give out everything she wanted to know, by now it was clear to her that he was gonna require way more effort than she had herself prepared for. Things were supposed to get easier once she got herself in, but here she was, with him hardly a few feet away from her and yet she was hopeless.
In order to achieve her goal, there had to be quite some interaction with him in the near future, but considering how serious the situation was for him, he seemed to be in no mood for casual chit chat, at the moment atleast. But she had to start from somewhere at some point and the sooner, the better.  She couldn't exactly just start throwing questions at him, he was clever enough to get suspicious. She needed an excuse, one that would be good enough for him to socialize with her even on unprofessional terms. After waiting around to first give anyone else the opportunity to speak up their question, she saw hers and decided to take advantage of it. "Hey. Once again." She walked upto him, with a nervous chuckle in between, "..I'm gonna be honest, I'm clueless around here. My father always wanted me to join the army, actually he wanted his son to but my parents separated before he could have had one. ..Point is, I'm not much experienced when it comes to all this but I know SHIELD offers safety, which is why I chose this path. I'm willing to offer everything I can to be a part of this, but I need someone to guide me, probably a little more than everyone else and I know I don't deserve any more attention than all these other men..", she glanced at them taking a short pause before she continued, "You're Captain America, I don't know who else to ask if not you." This was the only way she could have turned things around from here, and so she went with the safest plan with a visibly nervous look across her face as she looked up at him for his response.

He knew just how long it took to get from the city to this particular base. Considering they’d picked him up early that morning and he’d made it there in enough time to get there on time, as well as most of the others in the room, Steve wasn’t about to take any sort of excuses. These people were supposed to be professionals, they were supposed to understand the strict regiment that came with being a part of SHIELD and they should know better than to use some sort of excuse. And he was certain the look on his face spoke far more than any words would say. He wasn’t there to be their babysitter. He wasn’t there to be their friend, their parent, or anything else. The only reason he was there instead of working with STRIKE was because they needed his help and he couldn’t ever tell them no. They also told him they needed him there more than they did running the missions. Of course they’d told him once he was done they’d put him back out in the field but he had a feeling that wasn’t going to be happening any time soon.
“I know exactly how long it takes because I made the same damn trip,” he told her, his arms still crossed over his chest. He’d told himself he wouldn’t allow them to give him any sort of excuses and yet that was exactly what was happening. “And somehow I made it here in enough time to be standing here in front of everyone. Consider this your one and only free pass,” he told the group, sighing out of frustration. This was not what he’d signed up for. They’d told him that it would be nothing more than helping polish up the latest batch of recruits before they were put out into the field. Steve wouldn’t have been here if he was having to deal with exactly what he was; keeping them all in line, making certain they showed up when they were supposed to and pushing them through their training. The team he’d worked with in New York at least knew some sort of discipline. These were nothing close to that and it was going to take all of his patience to make certain that he didn’t lose his patience when it came to those standing in front of him.
Taking another deep breath, his eyes scanned over the group. He could do this. He knew he could do this. This was nothing more than dealing with a new team. “You all are here because you have something to offer SHIELD,” he started to say to the group. Steve knew that each of them had something to offer the organisation. With some fine tuning some of them would become well trained field agents. Others would most likely end up working behind the scenes. But all of them would become agents. “If you put all of yourself into training you’ll find your place within the organisation. That means no more excuses, no skipping out your training. If you miss one you will find yourself in need of new employment. Each of you have been divided into groups and those groups will become your life.” If they could bond as a team then they would find it easier to integrate into SHIELD. And if they couldn’t? It was for the best that they found that out now instead of later, when it was too late to do anything.
“I am only here to run the training as a whole. You will each have someone in charge of your group and they are who you will answer to,” he continued to explain, his eyes flickering over the group as a whole. Steve didn’t know just how many of them would actually survive but if they took his words to heart they would come out better people. “Any questions?”

There was an instant smirk across her lips at the sound of his response. If only he knew what was going on in her mind, stopping at second was playing it safe. Deep down they both knew that wouldn't have been the end of it. Unfortunately she was left with her imagination to fulfill her fantasies about that night, regretting the tragic reality that things did not go as they should have back then.
And there he goes, filling her head with inappropriate ideas and possibilities she could bring to life right here and now, to make up for the ones they didn't take advantage of last year. Did he enjoy teasing himself in the process of teasing her? She really did wonder, or was she the only one who wanted to throw that glass away, smack him against a wall, rip his clothes off and start working on those rounds for atleast as long as it would take to join pieces of the shattered glass. His warm breath against hers or the negligible distance between their faces was of no help either, causing her heart to pound faster, which probably didn't go un-noticed. “..Could have ended much better though, don’t you think?” Her gaze moved from the being re-filled glass to his face as she tried her best not to stare at his lips, atleast tried not making it obvious.

There went her optimism along with the smile spread across her face with the response she got, and more importantly who it was that she got from. Steve Rogers, his introduction made her eye the sole reason she packed her bags and made it all the way here observantly. And damn, could things have started any worse than they did? If leaving a good impression was what her aim was, which it most definitely was to gain his trust and for things to run smoothly along the way, it was safe to say that she did a terrible job at that.
She silently cleared her throat, giving the crowd an embarrassed glance before returning her gaze at him. It was just pure embarrassing, not only arriving late, but having herself almost admonished by Captain America infront of an audience. She could have sworn she heard a chuckle or two, and hoped to hell her cheeks didn't tint as much as she felt them flushing. One thing she was sure of now, he was not a typical man. Not just his built and inexplicable bodily functions which kept him alive throughout the years he was deep in ice, he was just different. Which is why he wasn't bias towards the only female trainee to have joined the camp thus loyal to his job. Her observation phase about him had now started, even under pressurizing circumstances as such, just as any individual she would interview.
Was she supposed to salute or call him Sir? Since she had absolutely no clue how things worked around here, she was just going to go with her sixth sense and ideas she had gathered from a couple of relatable movies she had watched. "Actually today happens to be my first day on camp, and I just arrived. The transport was sent over around.. " She had a quick look at the watch wrapped around her wrist, "an hour and forty five minutes ago, and that's exactly how long it takes coming from New York. Or I would've made it on time." She caught the man who had escorted her towards the hall now standing by her side staring at her as if she said something completely unbefitting from the corner of her eye which alarmed her, "Sir." She added right away, if that was what she missed out, not wanting to make any more mistakes as arriving late for one was enough.

~More than just an interview~

His ride came early that morning, just like he expected it to. The file had mentioned that he would be spending the next three months on a base outside of the city, training new recruits for SHIELD, and they had wanted him to actually accept instead of brushing them off like he usually did. Steve knew that it wouldn’t be all that bad, that they could have asked him to do something that was completely out of character for him. Not that training new recruits was in character for him but he’d had the experience leading the Commandos. How much more difficult could it be handling new recruits? It was something he was most likely going to regret saying but it wasn’t as if he could back out. Not when he’d told them he would be there that morning to meet the new recruits. He just had to hope this recruits were willing to put in the hard work that it would take to become the sort of field agents they needed. If not – he had no problems whatsoever cutting out those who couldn’t cut it and sending them on their way.
Two agents stood outside his door, and a part of him wondered if they were there to make certain he actually showed up and wasn’t going to leave them hanging there. The bag he packed was now slung over his shoulder and the shield – Steve knew he’d most likely not need it but it was such a huge part of his life that he decided it was best to bring it with him – was in his free hand as they walked out of his SHIELD issued apartment and down into the waiting car. It never ceased to amaze him just how inconspicuous SHIELD tried to be and yet how much they actually stood out. Or at least how much they stood out in this neighbourhood. Sliding into the backseat, he allowed the agents to drive them out of the city as his eyes focused on the front windshield. His thoughts kept going back to war, how if he’d just reached out a little further he might have grabbed Bucky’s hand. He also couldn’t help but remember the crash, having Peggy’s voice there with them until he crashed a comfort he never wanted to forget.
But none of those memories would help him in the present. Instead he was forced to deal with the present, with being so far out of time he wasn’t even certain he could find his place, with just how alone he was in the world. No one would really understand just how alone he was and Steve made a point of keeping that from everyone else. They had enough on their plates without him adding to it. He also didn’t want to rely on people or for others to think that he wasn’t capable of handling everything on his own. Because he was more than capable of handling it all. And he would prove that to the others if that was what it took. At least SHIELD would give him a temporary purpose. Something told him it wouldn’t last long but having orders was better than none at all. Upon hearing the agent’s voice telling him they were there his eyes focused once again to see that they’d long left the city behind and were now nearing the base he’d read about in the file. It should have bothered him that he’d allowed his own thoughts to get the better of him. It didn’t.
They drove through the gates and stopped just short of one of the buildings. The agent had told him that the recruits would be waiting for him in one of the buildings but that they’d dropped him off near the quarters where he’d be staying. They also told him that the recruits would be expecting him at 11am and given that it was 10:45am he didn’t have much time to get himself situated. But then he always did prefer working under pressure. Steve stepped out of the car and grabbed his bag and shield from the back before slamming the door and walking to the one building. Though upon closer inspection it was more like a group of small cabins shoved together. He figured his rank meant he would have his own private quarters. Which was fine with him. The recruits would have things they needed to do and he would have time to put together just what they would do under his tutelage. He wouldn’t go easy on them. Field agents needed to be tough and handle any sort of situation they were thrown into, after all.
After dropping his stuff off and locking the door behind him, he made his way to the building that the agents had told him about. Luckily he slipped into a side door and realised that most of them were already there. The clock read 11am and Steve knew it was time to start. He wasn’t going to be the sort who allowed stragglers to just wander in. If they weren’t there by the time given they would be asked to leave. There was no time to deal with those who couldn’t handle what it was going to take. Just as he was about to start someone actually spoke up. His eyes searched out the sound and when he found them he made certain she understood just why there was a stern look to his face. “You’re late. Consider this your first and last warning. If any of you cannot show up on time then you are in the wrong place and will be asked to leave,” he told the group as a whole, knowing that it was meant for the woman as well. “My name is Steve Rogers and I will be the one in charge of your overall training. If you have any questions now is the time to ask them.”

~Curiosity causes trouble~
Robin Scherbatsky, a career oriented woman to be struggling her way from her home town Vancouver, Canada to New York in hopes of accomplishing her dream, becoming a world famous news anchor. Starting off by working for the well known channel 'Metro News 1', her hopes were fairly high, soon brought down as things headed in a completely different direction than she expected. Her reports were never the kind people would actually bother about, rather an excuse to fill in late hours for people switching through the channels in search of something decent to watch, the one her show aired on mostly being one of them. Apparently she was 'inexperienced' or not yet ready for something big according to her ass of a boss. But surprisingly for once it seemed like the tables had turned when she was told to report about a dead body. Considering the stories she usually covered, this was definitely big. Getting promoted from salesman to the company's manager big, for her atleast and so when she was offered the opportunity, she didn't give much thought and agreed to the job without any hesitation, sealing the commitment.
Sure, it was new and exciting at first (not being disrespectful to the dead, tragically this had to be the most exciting thing to ever have happened to her), her excitement eventually toned down with one body after the other. It wasn't until her sixth report that it finally hit her. The poor quality air trips, cheap motels that flashed through her mind made her realize why she was even offered to cover something other than her usual in the first place. No one else would have been stupid enough to agree to roam around from one city to another being provided low-budget/uncomfortable trips to report about random unknown deaths. Her optimism was solely to be blamed for the situation she had landed herself into. But no point in grieving now, was it? Might as well get done with the job before agitating thoughts about her horrible decision/s would have ended in enough drinks to get past the night fast forwarding time to the regretful trip back home.
Getting escorted to yet another crime scene, she was allowed a disturbing peek at another dead body and told possible reasons known for the cause of death. Something about the killing was unusual and seemed repetitive, made the deaths seem somehow connected. The place was crowded by police officers, an ambulance and a couple of people as expected, some enjoying the show, some actually concerned. 'And we're live in five', said the camera man causing Robin to straighten her posture, raising the mic in her hand closer to her face. "Good evening to all of you. Today we report live from Kansas City about a man who probably thought of this day to be no different than any other, that was before Mr. Walker was attacked last night within the now dubiously safe walls of his own house, so severely that it ended up serving as the cause of his death. The body suffered brutal consequences and was already soulless by the time paramedics and first aid help reached. The KS police department is fully determined to find whoever is behind this violent incident. Our plea to the rest of you would be to secure those locks and keep yourself on alert and out of harm, for whoever or whatever we could be dealing with here is still out there. This is Robin Scherbatsky, Metro News 1." She kept a sufficient yet not overboard considering the situation smile across her face till the camera's stopped rolling, taking a deep breath before taking off and handing her mic equipment's over to one of the spot boys.
It wasn't long before her eyes drifted, her sight briefly pausing at the 'Classic '67 Impala', It was only then that it's familiarity instantly occurred to her. This wasn't the first time she had seen it around, it was present at every previous crime scene if her memory served her right which she highly doubted didn't. Her profession had made observing things more than needed a stubborn habit of hers. She glanced a familiar figure from the corner of her eyes, tilting her head to confirm her assumption and right she was. The vehicle was his and he too had been at every crime scene she had hopped from one state to the other. Was that a coincidence? Not necessarily. Though he seemed like someone who had the authority to be around, his fancy suit didn't seem a regular cop's cup of tea. Maybe there was more to these deaths than she thought, maybe just /maybe/ this could have been her chance to get a hold of something big and the same guy being present at each scene seemed the only place to start from. Had he recognized her as well? Or the better question was, who was he? An introduction would have answered her questions and since he was coming her way himself, why not?
Greeting the muscular, well suited man with a quick, curious smile she hid away her thoughts. "Heyy. Pardon me if I'm wrong but you seem utterly familiar." Okay, that was probably a rushed way to greet and his expressions didn't fail to convey that. "Uh. Robin. Robin Scherbatsky. Here on behalf of Metro News 1 to cover the tragic incident, just like back in Texas, Wisconsin, Missouri, Nebraska and Minnesota. You happened to be there too, each one of them." She stated rather asked, giving his built another look. Was it just her, or did he seem distractingly taller by the second?
