She was kind of a self-admitted dipstick when it came to romance, but even she could recognize when Nancy Wheeler was flirting with her, and oh boy, had Nancy been turning it up to a full ten lately. Robin wasn’t entirely sure what to think about her closest girl friend acting in a way that could only be described as the opposite of platonic, but she liked Nancy a lot. I mean, how could she not? Nancy was smart and capable and beautiful and outspoken and totally and completely out of Robin’s league if she thought about it too hard. But she was really trying to not think for once and to just go with the flow and have fun, which was way harder than she realized it would be.

Chapter 3: An Encounter

As much as the temptation to be skeptical was still there, Nancy had to admit it was cute to see how well Eddie and Chrissy were getting along. It was just enough to make her think about the lingering looks that she had shared with both Steve and Jonathan early in those relationships. It was more than enough to make her miss the thrill of not knowing what was to come while anticipating everything that could be.

Summary: All work and no play makes Darcy a dull girl. But after the Snap, what else is there to do? Go and help a friend in need, it turns out. One the newspapers are tearing to shreds after the battle that fractured the universe. One who had always seemed so indomitable that even after the end of the world, nobody thought to check in on.

Excerpt:

Nothing had prepared Darcy for how boring the apocalypse would be. Most everything else, she'd expected. Loneliness was a given, the fear came and went, the sadness unavoidable. But all of these things had always seemed a natural part of the end of the world. Not jarring, but expected. This was the third day running she'd knocked off from work, made her way home, and proceeded to spend a full five minutes stood frozen in her doorway, keys in hand, realising she had nothing to do and no one to see. For all that it was Friday night, she may as well have stayed at work. She'd never felt more like Jane. And there was the sadness again.
