Intention Statement
The purpose of this journal is to describe my planned career path as I move forward from this class and into the future. When I initially finished my undergraduate degree, I hoped to be working in a law office or working with juveniles who are on the path to going to jail or helping those who are just being released. It was a five year plan, during which my goal was to have successfully helped a few juveniles avoid prison by being able to be a mentor to them and turn their life around. Those that are being released from prison, I would hope that I would be able to keep them from straying away from their proper path and end up back in jail. That’s what I want my impact to be. I still want that to be my impact, but I discovered that I may need different ways to impact them the way that I need to. I have been employed by the Atlanta Hawks for the past 4 and a half years and the ways I’ve seen that organization impact the community through time and donations has inspired me greatly. Through the courses I will take through my Business Intelligence program, I hope to gain the knowledge and tools to be able to move deeper in the organization or maybe take my gifts elsewhere to be able to contribute the community and make sure that the youth have the guidance that they need to stay out of trouble.
