@blackcarolinaprincess17 I’m so glad to hear that you’ve been enjoying our collab! I really loved the pieces that @bernardolovesanita and I put out ❤️

Unfortunately, I’ve been pretty much inactive on this blog since the beginning of the summer. I’ve gotten involved in some other fandoms and have been focusing a lot of my writing there.

That said, West Side Story will always hold a very special place in my heart and that’s not to say that I’ll never return to writing for it, or to that collab, if @bernardolovesanita is still up to it!

Hello. New follower here. I know i'm a few months too late, but i have enjoyed reading your fics on Bernardo and Anita, the best couple of West Side Story. The fic that has touched me the most is your collab with @riffheartsgraziella on Anita and Grazi's dealing with their respective pregnancies and re encountering each other. I would like to ask if the fics are done for the moment or if you're still planning on completing them in the future?

The future of the collab fic we were writing is unclear.

I don't wanna say it's dead because every so often throught my life my love for West Side Story is reignited! But I can only speak for myself.

I still have every request I've gotten written down because I do want to fulfill those requests.

I do plan at some point to continue writing about pregnant Anita even if I end up continuing that story solo. I can't speak for my writing partner.

I just don't have the inspiration or motivation for it at this moment.

But I am still writing for other fandoms! So if you are interested in checking out my other writing everything is on @mccarthawrites ! Please don't feel obligated to check it out but I just wanna give you the option.

Oops, not me living and breathing for Top Gun: Maverick all summer 🫢😂

I'm amazed that as of May 26th, 2022 (Top Gun: Maverick premiered) the West Side Story fandom effectively shut down. It didn't die, just took a summer break. And now it's slowly regaining traction. I've missed it and the headcannons, the fanfics, the discussions and debates, the history studies and how this story still has such a generational and cultural impact on society. It's has its ups and downs but I love the West Side Story fandom here on Tumblr and everyone who participates.

I am definitely okay! I’m sorry that I haven’t been posting much, or giving any updates on why I haven’t been posting much.

In all honesty, I just found myself getting very burnt out. I felt a lot of (mostly self-imposed) pressure to constantly be writing and putting content out, then got frustrated when I was experiencing some writer’s block. Part of my taking a step back was intentional, and part of it was just a natural result of my schedule being a lot busier lately. I have found that it’s definitely good to take a break when you feel you need to!

I’m still around, I just probably won’t be posting as frequently for the foreseeable future. But my ask box is still always open, even if I don’t respond quite as fast.

I won’t lie, I’ve also totally been entering into my Top Gun/Miles Teller/Rooster Bradshaw era, so 99% of my mind has been there (y’know, when I’m not focusing on things in my real life 😂)

Thank you again for checking in though! It was so thoughtful and appreciated!
