Headcanons for ARG and Granny May. Finally some fluff instead of angst! lol

Amazing Rope Guy, feeling desperate to get his "powers" in check after losing yet another battle, showed up at Granny May's door, hoping that her yarn power abilities wouldn't be too dissimilar to his own rope powers and that she could give him some pointers

She was going to turn him away, as he's kinda... annoying. But he was persistent, and she realized that she was only going to end up spending the weekend home alone like she always did. (It was getting kind of lonely, though she wouldn't admit it.) So she let him inside

It quickly became obvious that he had no superpowered abilities and that she couldn't make him a better supervillain, much to his dismay

To make him feel better (and also so that her only company wouldn't leave), she told him to wait in the living room while she gathered supplies for a different project she wanted to try with him

She grabbed some tea, cookies, and knitting supplies, and sat him on the sofa, declaring that she was going to teach him how to knit

He questioned how this would help him be a better villain, and she said it wouldn't, but it would give them both something to do. She as right - he had nothing better to do - so he shrugged and stayed for the lesson

At first, he was really terrible at knitting, knotting up the yarn and getting everything tangled. And Granny May wasn't used to being patient, so it took her some effort to remember how to be gentle, the way she was before villainy. But the two made it work

Pretty soon, ARG was knitting impressively quick, and the two were having a good time, chatting, eating snacks, racing each other to see who could finish their row first

The day passed quickly and pleasantly, and they agreed to do it the next weekend too

It became a weekly thing, and they came to love the bonding time together. ARG began to think of her as his actual granny, and she began to think of him as her grandson

CALLING ALL ANIMATIC ASPIRING WORDGIRL ARTISTS

We’re hosting a multi-artist animatic project based on In The Heights’ musical song sequence “Black Out” (Song you can listen to here) based on @boxleitners-return-au‘s AU with Wordgirl characters!

Each participant will be given a character to draw an animatic scene sequence according to their position on the full song animatic, and with a total of 21 characters needed for the animatic, we accept and appreciate any participant who may want to join!
