that feeling when you look up at a building in the middle of the night and all the windows are dark except one, and the curiosity makes your marrow ache, and you think you want to drift up to the window to see what's going on in there but what you really want is to distill this feeling of glimpsing the edges of a secret universe and turn it into a tincture to hang round your neck, and let a drop of it dissolve on your tongue in those moments when you don't even feel connected to yourself let alone anyone else

i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good
