“In the course of the Chinese revolution Mao had developed Marxism-Leninism in many important fields. But it was in the crucible of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution that our ideology took a leap and the third great milestone, Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, fully emerged. From the higher plane of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism the revolutionary communists could grasp the teachings of the previous great leaders even more profoundly and indeed even Mao Tsetung's earlier contributions took on deeper significance. Today, without Maoism there can be no Marxism-Leninism. Indeed, to negate Maoism is to negate Marxism-Leninism itself.”

Historical video of the day: Clip from Abu Ali Mustafa’s short film “Scenes of the Occupation from Gaza” (1970), which captured the brutality of the IDF and the valor of the Palestinian resistance during the 70s. As far back as then, efforts were made by Israel to expel Palestinians abroad and into Egypt.

“Revisionism has already lost out, it’s only a matter of time. The problem is already defined, the rubbish has begun to be swept away, burned away; as I said, it’s only a matter of time. The process of their demise began years ago. And if we go back further, to the beginnings, the ball game was lost when they became revisionists, when they abandoned their principles–at that point. What remained to be seen was how the class struggle would develop, and how a Party like ours would be capable of carrying out its role, and how the masses would sustain it, support it and carry it forward, how they would come to see that it is their Party, that it defends their interests. And it is the masses themselves who will settle accounts, giving a just punishment to those who for decades have sold out and who continue to sell out the proletariat’s basic interests, and they will also condemn and sanction those traitors who try to do so or begin to do so.”

March 21, 2024 | Ang Bayan
Desperate to “finish off” the revolutionary armed resistance of the Filipino people, the US-Marcos regime’s armed tentacles is carrying out a rampant terrorist and fascist rampage throughout the country. Marcos and the AFP are set to make one false declaration after another that provinces have become “insurgency-free,” especially in areas that have long been targets of foreign corporations for mining, plantation and energy projects. At the behest of US imperialism, the AFP is also in a hurry to “end” the armed struggle of the Filipino people so that the US military can fully employ the AFP in its war of provocation against China which is likely to intensify in the coming year.
Marcos and the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have recently ordered an all-out war. The declared aim of this war is to dismantle all NPA guerrilla fronts by the end of March, destroy all NPA combat units by the end of June, and destroy all regional Party committees before the end of the year. Thousands of military troops, alongside police combat troops and tens of thousands of paramilitaries armed by the AFP, have been dispatched to ravage the countryside.
Hundreds of villages are being garrisoned by Marcos’ fascist minions. Oppressive soldiers are controlling people’s lives and livelihoods, silencing them and trampling on their rights and freedoms. Checkpoints and food blockades, prohibiting people from working in their fields or swidden farms, armed soldiers occupying barangay centers, going house to house and forcing people to “surrender,” harassing young women or even married women, all-night drinking, beatings and altercations, indiscriminate firing of guns—this is how people perceive the rotten soldiers. Amid drought and disasters, fascist soldiers are like pests who bring nothing but disaster to their communities.
Using powerful weapons such as drones and jetfighters, helicopters and howitzers, Marcos’s terrorist soldiers are bombing mountains and fields, indiscriminately firing night or day, destroying the forests and poisoning waters, shattering the peace and causing deep trauma to the people, especially children, pregnant women and the elderly. These result in unnecessary number of lives lost, contrary to all principles and laws of civilized warfare.
The evil aim of Marcos is to instill fear in the hearts of the people and force them prostrate while allowing their land to be grabbed by big foreign capitalists and their partner comprador bourgeoisie and big landlords. But instead of falling on the ground, the people are more and more roused to stand up and fight, and tread the path of armed revolution.
In the guerrilla fronts across the country, the units of the New People’s Army (NPA) continue to enjoy deep and widespread support from the peasant masses. Military officers of the AFP and the reactionary state are furious that despite their intensified all-out war which has lasted for almost seven years, the peasant masses continue to provide political and material support to the Red fighters. Young farmers, as well as young students, workers, as well as professionals continue to join the people’s army.
The people’s desire to carry forward the armed struggle continues to burn. Amid fascist attacks perpetrated by the armed minions of the US-Marcos regime, and oppressive policies that worsen their plight, it is becoming clearer to the minds and consciousness of the peasant masses that they completely have nothing if they do not have the New People’s Army on their side to defend their lives and rights, and to fight with for their land and livelihood.
In recent years, the NPA has suffered losses and setbacks in various parts of the country due to the errors and weaknesses of conservatism and complacency with its previous accomplishments. Instead of boldly treading the path of continuous expansion and invigoration of the armed struggle, the scope and mass base of guerrilla units were reduced, and units became passive and vulnerable to enemy encirclement. Under the guidance of and inspired by the Party, the NPA is determined to rectify errors and move forward on the path of strengthening and galvanizing the people’s war.
In the spirit of the rectification movement, the NPA must more vigorously wage armed struggle in all parts of the country. Utilizing the broad mass movement in guerrilla warfare, they must use all weapons—guns and rocks, spears and punji traps, shotguns and landmines—and carry out large or small tactical offensives that can be won against weak and isolated parts of the enemy. Strike at the enemy’s fascist troops and all its tentacles by way of rendering justice for the people and inspiring their resistance. Only by waging widespread armed resistance can the NPA consolidate, overcome setbacks and strengthen.
Since its establishment, five and a half decades ago, the NPA has served as the true people’s army in promoting the revolutionary aspirations of the Filipino people for national democracy. On its coming anniversary on March 29, let us celebrate its accomplishments for the past 55 years, pay tribute to all the martyrs and heroes, and reaffirm the determination to advance the protracted people’s war, without fear of sacrifices and hardships, to achieve ultimate victory in the future.

Marxist philosophy is the basis of our conception, it is the core of ideology, of course, that is why we cannot neglect it. Lenin drew the great lesson, when he said: “For a time I thought that philosophy was a question of the specialists of the Party in this problem, but the struggle made me understand that philosophy cannot be left in the hands of the specialists because philosophy is the very basis of the Party.” And you cannot fight against revisionism if you don’t grasp Marxist philosophy, and Marxist philosophy cannot be split into dialectical materialism on one hand and materialism applied to the social world. No comrades, this is a big mistake! Although it was Marx who solved the problem of understanding the social world, he did it by applying dialectical materialism; therefore, it is nothing but the dialectical materialist understanding of society, nothing else, however new it may be. It is a radically new and different creation, so what is new and different is not only the application to the social world. Why do I say this: the bourgeoisie in the eighteenth century through Diderot – that French character – developed mechanistic materialism to its highest level and came to intuit the contradiction, to sense it, but never to understand it. Materialism is very old, comrades, as well as dialectics, are parallel, contemporary in origin, have more than 2550 years in the West, we owe it to the Greeks. But it has been Marx who took the idea as a derivation of matter, fusing dialectics with matter, who gave the great transformation generating the new philosophy, the exhaustive and complete philosophy not in a closed sense, that is why we cannot talk about system, system implies closed circle and knowledge is spiral, everybody remembers what a spiral is, it is not a closed circle and neither the circles that form the spiral are closed, it is not true that, they are not.

Revolution is understood by Maoists today as people’s war. People’s war is the masses’ own war and is led by the communist party, which is the proletariat’s only party. The people’s war must initially destroy the enemy’s power with violence and create a vacuum of power in some areas, and eventually in more and more areas. In this vacuum of power, the proletariat must construct its own power in the form of peoples’ committees, which in the start must be clandestine (secret) and must exercise the proletariat’s state power under development. The new power resolves the problem of the masses by mobilizing the masses themselves and by basing itself on mass organizations that organize the masses, as well as on the armed power of the people’s army that is led directly by the communist party.
That revolution is inevitable is shown by all of history. No classes have voluntarily given up their power. The bourgeoisie in particular has shown that they are willing to do whatever it takes to hold onto their power. They wage wars of extermination, carry out genocides, torture people, persecute and murder, all to protect their power and their profits. This is no different in the imperialist countries, and rather the contrary. Those who wish to see examples of the brutality that the imperialists are willing to unleash on the masses can look at the US and how the Yankee state liquidated Black leaders in the 1960s and 70s. The Norwegian bourgeoisie dropped hundreds of bombs on Libya in 2011—they are willing to take things much further to hold onto their power.
Revolution, i.e. people’s war, is necessary on one side to destroy the enemy’s forces, and on the other side to build up the proletariat’s own power, to seize and defend the political power for the proletariat, and primarily the latter side. This is a universal law that applies for all countries in the world without exception.
WHAT IS REVOLUTION?

I have long aspired to reach for the clouds
Tumblr media
And I again ascend Chingkangshan.
Coming from afar to view our old haunt, I find new scenes replacing the old.
Everywhere orioles sing, swallows dart,
Streams babble
And the road mounts skyward.
Once Huangyangchieh is passed
No other perilous place calls for a glance.
Wind and thunder are stirring,
Flags and banners are flying
Wherever men live.
Thirty-eight years are fled
With a mere snap of the fingers.
We can clasp the moon in the Ninth Heaven
And seize turtles deep down in the Five Seas:
We’ll return amid triumphant song and laughter.
Nothing is hard in this world
If you dare to scale the heights.

Mao’s revolutionary development and life leaves the International Communist Movement and the masses of the world a great story of struggle, rupture and transformation. Mao came from a peasant-class origin but developed a proletarian-class stand through Marxism. He, at an early age, rebelled against the old feudalist customs and ideas kept alive by the old state, rejecting his arranged marriage, abandoning his peasant family’s affluence, rebelling against his bourgeois teachers (this would leave a lasting influence on his theorization on the rule of the Chinese superstructure of society and in particular the role of revolutionary education) , etc. He dove into revolutionary student and peasant organizing, aligning himself with the nationalist Chinese movement led by the Kuomintang under the leadership of Chinese national hero Sun Yat-sen, father of Chang Kai-shek. In 1911, early on as a young soldier for Sun Yat-sen’s army in the capital city of Changsha of his native province of Hunan Mao got his first experience in a revolutionary military, another lasting influence on his political development which undoubtedly contributed to his development as a great revolutionary military strategist. Mao’s continued revolutionary development as a trained soldier-turned student organizer in Changsha and then at the PekingbUniversity of Beijing, forming a progressive study group with future original cofounding members of the Chinese Communist Party. After the founding of the Party, through the Civil War against the nationalists with the Red Army and then waging the anti-imperialist war against Japan with the People’s Liberation Army, then onward to the establishment of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949, and then the launching and closing of the GPCR from 1966 to 1976, Mao shows us nothing short of these historic feats, or as he said in his own words: “nothing is hard in this world if you dare to scale the heights.”

COMRADE MAO, MAN OF THOUGHT AND ACTION
Tumblr media
In the difficult and prolonged revolution for new democracy in China, the thought of Mao Tse- tung was developing. Comrade Mao fused the universal truth of Marxism-Leninism with the concrete practice of the Chinese revolution. He discovered and deepened the character of democratic-national revolution, or new democracy, which rules in semi-feudal and semi-colonial societies. The road of these revolutions of "surrounding the cities from the countryside," the laws of the People's War, and the three true magic instruments of the revolution: the Communist Party, the Armed Struggle, and the United Front. These contributions would open a wide and fortunate revolutionary road to the people of China, and mark the brilliant red line of the glorious Chinese Communist Party, sweep away the deviations of the left and right, and convert Mao Tse-tung into the leader and great conductor of the Chinese revolution. In the midst of this creative practice, Mao made his masterful contributions to dialectical materialism, and to the Marxist conception of art and literature, which have been converted since then into treasures of Marxism-Leninism.
Fighting unbendingly along with the people oppressed by imperialism. And synthesizing the experiences of the movements of national liberation, Mao Tse-tung has conceptualized the Marxist-Leninist thesis that "the wind of the East predominates over the wind of the West," meaning that the strength of the revolutionary camp is greater than that of the reactionary camp, and that each day it will be more so, because the new have never been destroyed by the old, and the new are represented by socialism and the revolutionary forces, while the old are imperialism and all reactionaries. And meanwhile the imperialists and all the reactionaries are subject to the law, of causing disturbances and fail and causing disturbances over again until its end.

The Irgun was a Jewish Terror organization in Palestine that operated in the 30′s and 40′s, carrying out attacks and massacres against Palestinian civilians in their [successful] efforts to use terror to establish the state of Israel.
The Irgun was responsible for numerous shootings and bombings, from drive-bys, to planting bombs in crowded markets and cafes, to targeted assassinations, to full-on massacres.
Two of the Irgun’s most notorious actions were that of the King David Hotel bombing in 1946 that killed 90 people, as the Deir Yassin Massacre in 1948 in which over 100 Palestinians were murdered.
The Deir Yassin Massacre was one of the worst massacres of the Palestinian Nakba, the campaign in which Jewish forces ethnically cleansed the native Palestinian Muslims and Christians from their land, creating over 750,000 refugees and destroying over 500 towns and cities in order to establish the state of Israel.
During the massacre in their attempts to control the village, Jewish forces went door to door with TNT and blew up houses containing Palestinian civilians and those defending their village from the attack. Irgun forces would throw grenades in through the windows of houses they passed, killing those inside. To add to the atrocity, those taken as prisoners by the Irgun were lined up and systematically shot.
The images above represent the Irgun’s emblem, which features all of Palestine and Jordan. The Irgun believed that the entirety of both Palestine and Jordan belonged to the Jewish people, and their end-goal was to establish the Israeli state across the two of them.
Palestinians are frequently demonized as refusing to accept peace or seeking more land for ourselves [despite the fact that the entirety of our land was stolen from us, and continues to be stolen from us by Israeli settlements], yet ignore the fact that one of the most prominent groups responsible for carrying out the ethnic cleansing of Palestine to establish Israel /themselves/ believed that both all of Palestine AND Jordan would be theres.
“Why is this relevant?” you might ask.
The answer is because leaders of the Irgun eventually went on to hold leadership positions within Israel, among them Menachem Begin, who lauded and celebrated the massacre of Deir Yassin as being vital for the establishment of Israel:
Arabs throughout the country, induced to believe wild tales of “Irgun butchery,” were seized with limitless panic and started to flee for their lives. This mass flight soon developed into a maddened, uncontrollable stampede. The political and economic significance of this development can hardly be overestimated.
- Menachem Begin
He also celebrated the massacre as a “splendid act of conquest” meant to serve as a model of the future:
Tumblr media
His violent and pervasive genocidal mentality followed him all the way to the positions of power within Israel, where he ruled during future massacres that I will come back to.
Begin, who was leader of the Irgun at the time of the Deir Yassin Massacre, eventually went on to serve as Prime Minister of Israel and found the “Herut” political party. For context, the Herut party went on to become the Likud party, the current party in control of Israel.
Begin, leader of a terrorist organization responsible for numerous civilian deaths through bombings, massacres, and shootings, who supported the idea that Israel should encompass all of both Palestine AND Jordan, who celebrated the massacre of Palestinians as important for the establishment of Israel, went on to become the head of the state, and he brought his ideology of terror to Israeli leadership.
Begin was a major proponent of Israeli Settlements, which are recognized internationally as illegal due to their construction on stolen Palestinian land and their segregational nature. His support of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory underlines his Irgun ideology - that ALL of Palestine and Jordan were to be Israeli territory.
Time and time again, Israel gives the world some sad story about how it’s the Palestinians who don’t want peace, how the Arabs refused to accept the partition plan, etc, etc. Yet, it’s clear to anyone familiar with history that the goal was always to control the entirety of Palestinian territory, and preferably have the Palestinians removed from it all.
Begin was also Prime Minister of Israel during the Sabra and Shatila massacre of 1982, which left over 500 Palestinian refugees murdered by Lebanese Phalangists and Israeli forces.
So why is it that Israel, a country founded on terrorism, ethnic cleansing, and the massacres of civilians, headed by terrorists directly responsible for massacres who went on to carry out even worse while head of the state, continues to preach this double-standard and narrative of victimhood while those responsible for all the reprehensible actions mentioned above never faced justice and are instead lauded and celebrated?
Israel continuously asserts that Palestinians celebrate terrorists and murderers, yet Israel itself has been run on multiple occasions by terrorists and murderers responsible for the deaths of thousands, who are then hailed as heroes.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party is the successor of Begin’s Herut party, and as such, they follow the same ideology of conquest and ethnic cleansing.

This happened in May 2022, btw, in case anyone was thinking that Israeli fuckery is a recent thing. Then again, this is one of the least heinous things they have done tbh.
It was never about Hamas.
