Considering my own daughter procrastinates on eating and instead finishes her assignments, yes. Cake counts as eating as long as you actually eat it.

(( the more it seems Red hates you, the more likely she actually likes you.

See, people she gets close to have a tendency to die

She tries to keep people away from her to keep them safe))

(( red cares deeply about every goddamn person she meets.

She will never admit this.

Shes a bleeding heart that values life above all else.

She wishes she could protect everyone, but she can't, and it hurts her to her core.

Its one of the reasons she has her own EM field dampened and why she doesn't read anyone elses EM field.

She cares too damn much, and she hides how much shee feels and how deeply she feels with an EM field dampener of her ownz and she refuses to read anyone elses because she doesn't want to see anyone beyond her clinical professionalism.

She hates how much of a bleeding heart she can be.

And she doesn't want anyone to know.

You could say shes paranoid about it (yes we're getting closer to exploring her paranoia)

The optimistic youth who wanted to save every one is still buried within her, barely hidden beneath the surface.

The fastest way to get her to go away is accusing her of caring too much, because she does. And it has led to some of her greatest failures, her most personal failures.))

(( Red Alert does have a soft and tender side. But very few people have seen it.

Her daughter @arachnicon-arana is one person who has experienced it.

Theoretically patients who need a tender gentle hand instead of her more brusce attitude she usually uses.

And her plants. Yes she raises plants, actual organic plants.... She's from the TFA universe.

If she's ever nice to you, either she likes you, or you're dying or at risk of dying.

Statistically you're more likely to be dying than having her opening up to you. ))

(( red does put caring for others above everything else, and it is often when she is doing her duty as a medic is when her attitude is dropped.

Especially if her concern for the wellbeing of her patient overrides her aloofness.

The fastest way to see the real red Alert is to see her when someone is in serious danger or is medically at extreme risk.

Though this courtesy is usually only extended to patients she is directly treating.

Or for people she has an extremely high level of respect for, such as Optimus, Rung, or Wheeljack (don't ask).

The easiest way to know when she's dropped her guard is when her expression softens slightly))

(( just because Red always has to be right doesnt mean the person shes in opposition to is wrong, Red does believe that there are multiple points of views, and she will often adopt ideas and opinons that works with her own view of the world, but most worldviews that condone destructive behaviors and the taking of lives are the ones she will oppose))

(( Red will always own up to her arrogance, moral superiority complex, and her extremely high standards. You confront her about it and she's likely to go "and? Your point is?". She knows she stuck up, and she knows she thinks she know better than everyone else. It's not a criticism to her to tell her to her face that you think this. She just either thinks you can't see her brilliance, or you just have a different perspective))

(( TBH Red actually believes her own hype. Most of her standoffish nature of "I'm the best, and I'm right" come from years of having to live up to being called "the best" and being "the authority" on medical stuff.

She used to be shy, humble, and for a while, extremely paranoid. - but we arent to that part yet-

But years of being told how great she is, has gone to her head in a lot of ways.

Mostly to her own impossibly high standards being applied to EVERYONE she meets who is a medical professional.))

(( for those just tuning in, this is my on-going, and long needed, character construction for Red, that I'm inflicting on all of you, because why not?))

(( honestly if anyone could compare Reds actual medical practices, they'd look a lot like House M.D.'s

But she'll never admit that. She's more likely to present them as entirely in the up and up. And she does try to resort to less savory practices as the final option, when all others have been exauhsted.

But hot damn can she be dismissive of others thoughts and opinions... Again her mindset is "you're wrong, I'm right".- but that's more or less as her personal insulation because she's so damn scared of being wrong- see the inevitable post about her paranoia))

(( red firmly believes in bashing someone upside the back of the head if it means they start to realize what they almost lost.

She's perfectly fine with "being the enemy" if it means you end up better off than you were before.

She's not here to be liked, she's here to make other people well again.

Of course if your actually hurting someone by trying to "help" them, she won't have that, and it's one of the lines she won't cross. She won't inflict "pain" on someone who doesnt want help, she won't force treatment on those who dont consent to it. But if the situation is life threatening she may perform an operation or something.

But her refusal to use, abuse, or manipulate is staunch. But she will call others out on their BS, even if it means she has to do something shocking.

Because scaring the crap out of someone by listing all the symptoms and letting them come to the conclusion that they're gonna die just so that they can appreciate the value of what they stand to lose, is something she does when needed))
