At present there is nothing within the films themselves to suggest a shared universe, though there is a small amount of things in the live action installments that could be considered hints of connective tissue, or just references.

When talking about these, Shin Evangelion cannot be talked about without the greater context of the previous 3 films, although there are other small factors to talk about regarding this shared universe. If that is what it is.
