Illustration that I did for my Publications/Op-Ed class~ The article was about online dating and how it makes people miss chances for love in ‘real life’ or something along the lines of that.
Original sketch in graphite, then digitally colored.

Art should be something that liberates your soul, provokes the imagination and encourages people to go further.

For my Illustration class, we were to take our art and apply it to something ‘3-d.’
SO, I drew on my boyf’s pick guard of his first Fender ever Q vQ
I have always wanted to draw on an instrument (particularly a guitar), and now I can cross that off my art bucket-list!
He assembled it tonight so I could present it to my class tomorrow. He really likes it so I’m all happy and stuff. o//v//o
AND we also made fish tacos with octopi and guacamole, mhmm!
ink on pick guard, finished with fixative

Tumblr Artist
Carne Griffiths | on Tumblr (b.1973, UK) - Envy / Closer
Carne Griffiths’ artwork is born from a love of drawing and the journey of creating an image on the page. Working primarily with calligraphy ink, graphite and liquids, such as tea brandy, vodka and whisky he draws and then manipulates the drawn line. Carne’s images explore both human and floral forms, figuratively and in an abstract sense. He is fascinated by the flow of line and the ‘invisible lines’ that connect us to the natural world. These may be considered lines of energy or spiritual connections between ourselves and our surroundings and his work is often an emotional response to images and situations encountered in daily life. These daily images are recorded in a dream like sense onto the page where physical boundaries are no longer important. Carne’s work takes us on a journey of escapism, often focusing on scenes of awe and wonderment, they offer a sense of abandonment to the artist and to the viewer an invitation to share and explore this inner realm. (cf. artist’s bio) More artist’s work can be found on his webiste. You can also follow his Tumblr for more news.
