Tily was a theory on the L Chat in 2017 already and I and others blogged about it in 2019 too and I'm sure someone picked it up around 2020 even before the podcast, this is so weird
my response to this in-sub will probably get deleted so for anyone who thinks i'm a shill for tree:
i would also add - would a shill for tree release a kaylor episode a couple weeks ago? do a tiktok series on swiftgron? do episode upon episode about how taylor is a big gay gaymo? debunk her most famous boyfriend?
folklore’s release genuinely was one of the best times online in recent memory. the pure excitement of getting a surprise taylor swift album especially during such a dark time, the anticipation of having no lead singles to go off of and only a track list, the drastic shift from lover aesthetic towards something that so many of us wanted. and then when the album came out and it was everything so many of us had ever wanted from taylor. so many people wrote so much brilliant analysis about that album and made so much art and every single post about it was so clearly driven by emotions that only months of self reflection could bring out. every analysis post felt a little more like a confession and it was one of the best examples of fans turning taylor’s stories into our own. folklore is the magic of taylor swift x1000!
okay so upon rewatching.... taylor is putting herself in both the bride and groom's place. she's the groom giving the speech and presenting the bride with a gift, she's the groom in the bathroom seeing herself in the mirror not because he was supposed to marry her but because taylor was supposed to be the groom. she's the bride when she's sabotaging the cake (the proof is in the rose dress pudding), she's removing the groom from the picture, she's the bride at the first dance telling the groom none of this is real. the only time she's herself is when she's telling the kids how to crash a wedding, showing them magic tricks and being a bad influence.
@hoziersgf oh good one, I agree with you! didn't even think of looking up the lyrics, I just listened and came here all confused because I thought I Mandela-effected a keychain out of the song 🙃
serious question: do you guys think he had a "fuck the patriarchy" keychain because she specifically mentioned the keychain somewhere and I just missed it, or is it just supposed to be read as "you throw me the keys, [I will drive instead of the man because] fuck the patriarchy"

the concept of taylor unnecessarily lying about all too well originally being 10 minutes long and then unnecessarily writing and releasing that version 10 years later even though she just as easily could’ve………….. just not
