Shout-out to selfshippers who deals with voice dysphoria, and absolutely hate their voice! whether it’d be something personal, it not fitting in with your gender identity, or you simply not liking it. I understand! so does your f/o(s)!

but I am here to tell you that your f/o(s) thinks your voice is absolutely pleasant!! yes, they think that YOUR voice is absolutely nice to listen to!! whether it’d be singing or your normal talking voice!

Are you trans? and doing voice-training to achieve a higher or deeper voice? your f/o(s) respect your decision to do so, but it isn’t changing the fact that they’ll always adore your voice, and can’t wait to see you achieve your goal at getting the voice you want!!

do you have any insecurities revolving around your voice? perhaps people judging or making fun of you for it?? your f/o(s) would like you to know that your voice is absolutely fantastic! despite what you and others might think! they want to reassure you that your voice is absolutely fantastic, and they want to hear you talk and ramble on as much as you like because your voice just makes them happy! and they’ll absolutely defend/comfort you when someone says something bad about your voice!

whatever your reasons are, your f/o(s) will be there to always listen to you sing, talk, or something as simple as a hum!! they’d understand if you want to change it, or if you don’t want to talk because of it!!

I see a lot of posts praising their f/os, and that’s great, but sometimes I start to feel a bit inferior to this idealized version of them in my head. So: Your f/o has flaws. Maybe they run jokes into the ground until they aren’t funny anymore. Maybe they sleep through their alarms often. Maybe they’re petty and will die on ridiculous hills. Maybe they have a hard time opening up when they’re upset and snap at you sometimes as a result.  Maybe they have scars or dental issues. Maybe they’re highly opinionated. Maybe they’ll give advice when you just want to vent. Maybe they avoid conflict. Maybe they’re not the best with money or time management. Maybe they keep wearing ratty shirts and underwear and shoes long after they ought to have been thrown away. 

No matter what your f/os flaws are, they love you enough to work on fixing the harmful ones for your sake and their own, even getting therapy or medication if needed. As for the more innocuous ones, they may be annoying at times, but you can come up with a creative solution together or maybe you’ll grow to accept them.

On the flip side, you don’t have to worry that your f/o will leave you at the drop of a hat for messing up or being imperfect or having eccentricities. You don’t expect perfection, so why would they? They think your physical “flaws” are beautiful. They’re happy to be alongside you, growing and becoming better people together. Because they love you.
