Something I always find bizarre is when people mention something along the lines of "You always act like your opinions are correct and everyone else is wrong" as like. A moral or personal flaw. Because like. I'm pretty sure that's just how opinions work.

people online talk so much about hating babies and kids but in "the meatspace" people LOVE babies. hang out with a baby and you will see so many people staring at you with big smiles and waving at you and going "that baby is SO cute" and generally being pleasant unprompted. the lady at the vietnamese place just now gave us like three extra soup spoons because my niece loves those spoons but kept dropping them on the floor and the lady kept giving us more with a massive smile on her face. on our walk today a bunch of construction guys waved and grinned at her the whole time we walked by, and when we passed by an elementary school a little girl said "your baby's really sweet!" babies are not balls of irritation and hatred they are beacons of joy and kindness actually and they bring out the best in strangers. whenever im out with her we have multiple positive interactions with strangers who are so happy to see her. or maybe it's just that my baby niece is the cutest most wonderful baby in the world :]

#this definitely depends on who and where you are #but yes i LOVE babies and kids i love seeing em in public i always make sure to smile at kids n their guardians #many a crying baby has been settled or at least confused out of their cries by my funny faces #i almost got a job as a lollipop lad #but then decided with me being trans it was a bit of a risk bc you never know what parents will say or do #sigh #babies r so cool and funky #they're just little things that absorb the world #in wonder #we should be kind to them

The "radical leftists" on this site who talk constantly about the importance of solidarity and kindness and compassion and then immediately tell anyone who disagrees with them to kill themselves are going to be devastated when they learn how much of actual union organizing involves talking to people whose politics you find incredibly repugnant and meeting them where they're at in order to find common ground

I just received a large brass coin with an emblem of a cartoon rat on it in the mail. It was literally the only thing in the envelope – there wasn't even an explanatory card. I presume this is a reward from one of the several dozen crowdfunded tabletop RPGs I've backed over the course of the past decade, but I genuinely have no recollection which – if any – of them it might be, so it's honestly all a bit sinister.
