13 USTET Tips Na Hindi Dapat Kalimutan
Dahil maganda ang feedback na natanggap ko dahil sa UPCAT Tips post ko, napag-isipan ko na ring gumawa ng tips para sa USTET. First batch na ng USTET sa August kaya inuna ko na ito bago ACET.
USTET lang yung tanging college entrance test na na-enjoy ko. Hindi ko rin alam bakit hahaha pero my USTET journey can be found here. Hindi ko maalala kung ito ba yung test na mayroong 5 choices at hindi A,B,C,D,E ang choices kundi 1,2,3,4,5, pakiramdam ko talaga ito yun pero kung mali ako pa-TA nalang. Ito na, magsimula na tayo!
Tip #1: USTET formula
Iba ang process ng admission sa UST kumpara sa UP kaya merong mga pumapasa sa UPCAT at hindi pinapalad sa USTET at vice versa. Kung sa UPCAT through UPG o pinagsamang grades noong high school at raw test score, sa USTET naman nakabatay talaga sa course mo kung papasa ka. Mayroong 4 subtests ang USTET (Math, Science, English at IQ) at sa bawat subtest may score requirement para mag-qualify. Para sa mga mga mag-aaply naman ng courses like Architecture may dagdag na subtest – ‘Spatial Relations’ yata yun. Kaya pag nakita mo yung USTET results mo at nakakita ka na ng NQ o Not Qualified kahit lahat pa ng iba Qualified, kahit pa mataas yung overall average mo, Not Qualified ka pa rin. Masakit diba?
Tip #2: Picking your course
Matinding pag-iisip ang kailangang gawin bago pumili ng course sa USTET. Nakabatay kasi ang qualification score mo depende sa course mo. For example, Accountancy ang inapply mo, siyempre dapat mataas ang Math mo or Journalism dapat mataas ang English mo. Hindi gaano importante sakanila ang Overall Average, ang importante sakanila maabot yung qualification score ng bawat subtest ng course na inaapplyan mo. May mga kakilala nga akong nakapasa ang overall average 79 lang tapos yung isa overall average 86 hindi pa nakapasok. Depende talaga yan sa course! At kung na-submit mo na ang USTET form mo pero biglang nagbago ang isip mo dahil nabasa mo ang tip kong ito, FEAR NOT! Pwede pang palitan yan sa actual test date. Kaya chill ka lang. At dahil may dalawang choice ka, I suggest ang piliin mong first choice ay yung course na gusto mo at yung second choice ay yung course na sa tingin mo magaling ka. Gets ba?
Tip #3: Picking your test batch
Sa USTET, may tatlong test batch. This year naka-schedule siya nang August, September at December. Sabi-sabi nila mag-first batch daw dahil mas madali daw pumasa pag maaga nag-take at pampuno nalang daw ng slots yung kinukuha sa mga susunod na batch kaya mas mahirap daw pumasok. Aaminin ko natakot ako noong narinig ko ito pero buo parin yung loob kong kumuha ng Batch 2. Kaya ako nag-batch 2 kasi masyadong magkakalapit yung schedule ng UPCAT, ACET at Batch 1 ng USTET. Hindi pwede ma-stress kundi walang mangyayari kaya second batch nalang. Pero sa tatlong batch na iyon, iisang test lang naman ang gagamitin. Hindi ba mas marami na kayong na-aral pagdating ng December at mas marami ka nang stocked knowledge nun kumpara noong August palang. Tyaka yung mga madaldal na nag-take ng maaga siyempre hindi nila mapipigilan magbigay ng tips tungkol sa tinake nila kaya diba? Hindi naman sa pinipilit kong mag-test kayo ng late ha, sinasabi ko lang yung pros hahahaha.
Tip #4: Review!!
Hindi pwedeng mawala itong tip na ito. Dito nakasalalay lahat. May natutunan ka nga ba sa high school o matalinaw ka lang. Ang mga tanong sa USTET ay hindi gaano komplikado tulad ng mga tanong sa DCAT at ACET na pang alien sa hirap. General ang mga tanong sa USTET at mas madaling sagutin gamit ang stocked knowledge. Ang tanong may naka-stock nga ba? I suggest you review more on Science instead of Math dahil naaalala ko 3/5 ng tanong sa Math, iisang formula lang ginamit ko tapos plus minus lang ang operation hahahaha. No need for lots of formulas like surface areas, volumes and molarities, basics lang talaga.

Tip #5: Be prepared
Bago ka matulog, ayusin mo na lahat lahat ng kailangan mo. Pagmulat mo ng mata mo kinabukasan, wala ka nang ibang dapat gawin kundi mag-almusal, maligo at magsipilyo. Yun lang. As much as possible wala ka na dapat problemahin yung USTET lang. Saka ka na mamroblema pagkatapos. Ihanda mo yung test permit mo, eraser, sharpener, baon at limang monggol #2 pencil (1 lang yung para sa’yo, yung 4 na iba pangtusok mo sa katabi mo para bawas kumpetisyon, joke).
Tip #6: Wear a watch
Time constricted rin ang USTET pero mapagbigay pa naman sila sa oras kahit papaano. Hindi katulad ng ACET na kakabuklat mo palang ng test booklet eh times up na agad. USTET lang yata yung tanging college entrance test na hindi ako nakakain. Yung mga questions kasi tiwala akong kaya kong sagutan kaya panay ang pag-check ko kung tama yung mga nashade-an kong sagot. Magsuot ka ng relo para alam mo yung oras at maayos mo yung spacing mo kung isshotgun mo na o cool ka lang.
Tip #7: Wear a jacket
Air-conditioned ang testing areas sa UST at madalas malamig. Umuulan pa minsan. Sabi nila sinasadya ng mga proctor na lakasan ang aircon para lang mang-asar kaya mabuti nang prepared, magdala ng jacket. O malay mo may babaeng naka-sleeveless na gininaw ayaw mo yun sparks pa agad!
Tip #8: Do not leave an item blank
Hindi katulad ng UPCAT na right-minus-wrong, ang USTET hindi ganoon kaya kung wala nang oras i-shade mo nalang! Mag-shotgun pero iisang choice lang preferably B (2) or D (4).
Tip #9: Use Statistics in answering
For short, magcancel-out ng mga sagot. Kung obvious naman na hindi sagot yung isa edi 25% na yung chance mong makakuha ng tamang sagot. Eh obvious na mali din yung isa pang choice edi 33% na yung chance mo. Kaya boom. Matutong magcancel, para paraan lang yan!
Tip #10: Beware of the IQ Subtest
Marami akong kakilala na qualified lahat ng subtest maliban sa IQ. Ang saklap diba? IQ pa yung hindi mo nakuha. Madadali lang yung mga tanong at iisipin mo lang talaga ng maayos. May questions na akala mo alam mo na yung sagot pero pag binasa mo ulit trick question pala! Kay mag-ingat sa subtest na ito. Medyo gipit ang time allotment para sa subtest na ito kahit maraming items. Ako mismo hindi ko natapos at shinotgun ko na yung 12 na natirang number.
Tip #11: Law of Attraction
Concentrate sa isang goal - USTET. Wag mong isiping papasa ka sa USTET. Ang isipin mo Thomasian ka na. Panghawakan mo na parang nangyayari na.
Tip #12: Pray and wait patiently
Magpasalamat ka kay Bro na hindi ka inatake sa puso habang nagttest at magtiwala ka sa kung ano mang plano niya para sayo. Sabay-sabay irrelease ang results ng tatlong batch kaya ang results niyan madalas 3rd-4th of January pa lalabas.
Tip #13: Accept and move on
3 possible results lang yan….
Qualified: Congratulations! Pasado ka! Pero oops wag ka naman mayabang mamaya mababa lang talaga score requirement ng course mo. Always be humble.
On-waiting list: Congratulations! Pasado ka rin! Hindi ka pa man accepted, at least alam mong napasa yung requirements ng course mo. Minsan mahirap makapasok galing sa waiting list katulad ng sa mga Engineering, minsan naman madali sa mga courses na may mga slot pa. Mas madali rin yata ang reconsideration process kung waiting list ka lang at hindi not qualified.
Not Qualified: Hindi naman porket not qualified ka ay bumagsak ka sa USTET. Ibig sabihin lang hindi mo na-abot yung score requirement ng course na napili mo. Maaring pasado ka naman sa ibang course, sa mga napili mo lang hindi. Kung mag-aaply ka for reconsideration, iccheck uli nila yung USTET score mo kung pasok yung scores mo sa requirements na hinihingi ng bagong course na aaplyan mo.
Sabi nga nila “Madali ang USTET pero mahirap makapasok sa UST.” at sabi rin nila “Getting into UST is a story itself, staying in UST is another” No matter, what your result is tanggap nalang at mag-isip kung anong susunod na gagawin. Baka mamya mag-rant ka na ayaw mo naman sa UST in the first place maging viral ka pa

“The unending war of Lightning and Rain”
On Olympus, there are two brothers named Ranidus and Hedisius. They are sons of Zeus and he made them into Gods. Ranidus is the God of Lightning while Hedisius is the God of Rain. They did not like each other because when they were kids, they always fought. That is the reason why Zeus gets always angry at the two and gave the two responsibilities to become Gods of their respective realms. Zeus made Ranidus rule the lightning and the skies with Hedisius ruling the clouds and rain. Zeus brought them together in the skies for them to have a healthy relationship. But Zeus was wrong, the two gods had more fights instead of helping each other. They even fight on small things. Especially when the goddess of the skies, Ashe came to Olympus. The brothers saw this beautiful Goddess for the first time. And the real fight started when Ashe could not decide who to love. The two Gods show off their skills in fighting. Whenever they fought, rain and typhoons happen. Until today, strong typhoons happen because they keep fighting over Ashe. Some are thinking about how this long fight will last, but I believe that it will last forever.

The world is a very big environment. There are many places to visit. There is America, Japan, China, Philippines, Spain and other countries that have big names because of its fascinating culture. Now, if you’re planning a vacation, try to visit Greece because it has a lot of tourist spots.
Honestly all we know about Greece is its history of violence, fighting and war because of the Trojan War. But we do not yet know what is on the other side of it. So if you want a place that that is rich in culture, Greece is one on the top.
It’s great to know that many years ago, until now that people are more interested in knowing the history of every country and one of it is Greece. I adore and appreciate Greece because we’ve been talking about the history of Greece during English class. We talked about how the Greeks lived, how they cope with people and especially the war that made people realize how great Greece is.
