Here are some of Nekai and Mochiko’s friends! 

Collette: A butterfly who has heterochromia (differently coloured eyes and in her case, wings). She was found as a caterpillar in Maddie’s garden. Maddie took her in and hatched her, later bringing her over to Sakura’s, when she realised that other butterflies were avoiding her. She loves dancing, music and generally anything arts or pretty, which is why she feels so good in Sakura’s garden.

Ruka: A frog with swamp vitiligo, which is similar to the human version, but the spots only appeare if the temperature gets too hot or cold for him. He was found dehydrated by Jason, who lives at the house across the street from Sakura (and may have a crush on her). He brought Ruka over immeadiately, since Sakura’s place has a pond. However, it was decided that he should stay there for the better, as Jason couldn’t really accomodate him at his place.

Koiko: A koi fish found by Mike, Jason’s nerdy neighbour. Since Mike was really good at biology, he immediately realised that Koiko suffered from dwarfish and had a problem with his tail. With help from Mike’s parents (a surgeon and an engineer), Koikoi got a new, mechanic tail, though he still has trouble using it. The reason why he had to be moved over to Sakura’s was Drew, Mike’s family cat, who constantly tried to eat him.

Kitsu: Though she may appeare to be a regular fox, Kitsu is actually a kitsune, a shapeshifting fox from Japanese folklore. She was kicked out of her family for wanting to use her powers to help, instead of causing mischief. After that, she accidentally stumbled into Sakura’s garden, where she was allowed to stay, once the kids realised how socially anxious she was.

So, these are characters I came up with during my free time. The cat is called Nekai and his friend is Mochiko, who is a mochi (if you don’t know, mochi is a Japanese rice dessert). They live in a house in the Japanese suburbs with their group of outcasts and are frequently visited by the kids who brought them together. Nekai can’t really leave the house, as he is paralysed and can only “move” around if he is being carried. He is owned by Sakura, a girl whose parents are always away on business trips. Mochiko had a little accident while they were being made, which resulted in two things: them not being properly formed, causing Mochito become blind and a special food colouring getting added to them, causing Mochiko to change colour with their emotions. One of Sakura’s friends, Maddie made her for Sakura’s 15th birthday.
