đ©âĄđȘ episode twelve: INSANITY ARC/EARNED IT.
i deadass dont know what to say. i love yâall though :)
backstage, 11:00 pm â after Summer Slam.
you didnât want to talk to anyone right now.
you were going to shower and go back to your hotel room, it wasnât that late and while everyone were hitting up bars and clubs to celebrate, you wanted to go to bed. you had to wake up early tomorrow anyways.
even though the hallway was empty, you could hear people in their locker rooms and halls chatting and laughing out loud.
well at least some of us feel good about themselves.
it was almost embarrassing. the way you dragged your feet along the ceramic floor and how just felt down. youâve been the bad guy before, why is this so different?! maybe because you didnât want to do it? or because of how sudden it was? maybe youâre just not ready for turns like that and that itâs just too soon.
regardless, you knew it was going to be okay. at some pointâŠ
you push your locker roomâs door open and once again, you gasp at the amount of flowers in your room. you scanned your room quickly and didnât see a card. you raise and eyebrow, could be your colleagues congratulating you on your match, or maybe your Japanese fans sent them as a congratulations for your first pay-per-view.
you didnât think much of them this time.
you were just trying to get out and go home. so thatâs what you did, after a quick shower and trying your best to not drop all the bouquets, you left without a trace.
7:15 pm, Germany.
going to bed early was definitely a good choice. everyone arrived in Germany groggy as hell, but you felt okay. you slept like an actually baby last night and it felt like almost everything had evaporated from your mind, almost, that is.
you stare at the ceiling in your new hotel room, and it stares back at you. you had a lot of questions.
who the hell thought it was a good idea to turn you heel and align you with Shawn Michaels?
what was Hunter going to think?
and lastly, whatâs with the damn flowers?
you turn your head and look at the clock on the other side of the wall, 7:18 pm, itâs barely the evening. you should talk to Hunter, thatâs the first thing you should do.
after a warm shower that took your mind off of distractions, you changed your clothes and ended up wearing a yellow top and minty green mini skirt, white mary janes and floral bag, maybe you can convince him to talk over dinner... or something.
you close your roomâs door behind you, the hallway was quiet. everyone was probably asleep right now due to exhaustion from the flight, was Hunter even awake right now? you shouldâve called his room, heâs not even that far away.
Hunterâs room was the door opposite yours.
well.
you walk exactly four steps then knock on his door twice, you almost didnât want him to open the door but you also wanted this to be over with. you go to knock the door again, but the door is opened and there he was, as he opened the door, he struggled to button up his shirt.
âhey!â he said breathlessly, âoh. are you.. going somewhere? I donât wanna bother you-âŠâ
âI actually was gonna ask you to go get dinner with meâ he smiled, âand come inâ he said letting you in.
he seems in good spirits.
you sit awkwardly on a sofa as he scrambles back in his bedroom to put on some shoes. âany ideas where we could go?â he yells from inside, and you barely even heard him. ây/n?â he asked as he came out of the room.
âweâll do whatever you want, but can we talk before that?â
Hunter sighs and you get up, âitâs the Shawn thing isnât it?â he asked, you nod. âI know I shouldâve said something the moment I found out we were gonna be put together in a love storyline since weâre together now. I didnât know what you would think and in the moment I was having an internal conflict about the turn as a wholeâ you explain, âI understand if your mad at me, but-â
âheyâ Hunter cut you off, ârelax, Iâm not mad at youâ he says, and it felt like weight was lifted off of your shoulders. âyou were just doing your job, doing what you were told to doâ he walked closer to you, âyou and I know Vince and his ideas that come on a whim, Iâm not mad at you at all. I donât even have the right to be. Itâs okayâ he says wrapping his arms around your waist.
you immediately pull him into a hug.
it was such a stupid thing. heâs right, you were just doing your job. you felt your chest tighten then release. âitâs okay angel, iâm not mad at youâ Hunter rubs your back. âwhen I was in-⊠when I was in the ring with the girls, and I was thinking about how Vince made me a heel so quick, it felt like everything Iâve tried to build up was all shatteredâ you say as tears well in your eyes, âby something so stupidâ
âsee, you need to stop right here. pretty girls donât cryâ, Hunter pulled away from you, ânow look at me, weâre gonna go out and Iâm gonna take your mind off of this bullshit, you hear me?â he asked, you nod as you mumble a âyeahâ
ânow can you help me button this up, please?â
you begin buttoning up his shirt for him, but only until youâre about three buttons away from his neck is when your remembered.
âI uhm, I found more flowers in my locker room last nightâ
5:29 pm, backstage.
you werenât even sad anymore, you were just pissed. you had a creative clause in your contract which means that you can do what you want and not do what you donât want, and Vince straight up violated it.
Vince knew you didnât want to be a heel, at least not early on in your career but here you were. you wanted answers, immediately.
thatâs why youâre here, standing in front on Vinceâs office. youâve been standing here for at least ten minutes trying to think of a non violent way to confront him, but all roads lead to Rome. you have to deck him in the face.

you didnât care if he was in the most important meeting of his life while in there, hell, you didnât even care if you were going to get fired for this. you were going to fuck shit up regardless.
âVince?â you say as you walk in, and what a pleasant surprise, both Vince and Shawn were in here. boy, was this going to be fun.
you sigh with a smile as you sit in the chair next to Shawn. Shawn and Vince exchange confused but knowing glances.
âyou know why Iâm here.â you state.
âY/n, I-â Vince starts, âno, no, donât even start. Iâm the one whoâs gonna talk hereâ you raise a finger. âI donât know what the fuck was going through your mind when you decided on my behalf that Iâm better off acting a particular way, but let me tell you something, you donât tell me what to do; I have creative control in my contract and over my gimmick, and never forget that I can leave whenever I desire. Iâve heard about you having elaborate bullshit ideas and pulling the strings out of nowhere, but I expected you to be reasonable and have some common sense and pull that shit in the middle of a fucking pay-per-view.â
Shawn and Vince looked at you in horror, no one talks to the boss like that! hm⊠well.
âI promise you right now that if i wasnât thinking straight I wouldâve walked out like it meant nothing to me, but it did. it meant something to the girls, it meant something to me.â
the room was silent for a moment, Vince was flabbergasted. âand by the way, you couldâve picked anyone but this guyâ you point to Shawn.
âwellâŠâ Vince began as an attempt to reason with you, âgetting with you was his idea!â Vince points to Shawn who mumbles something under his breath as he looks away.
wait, what?
âwhat do you mean this was âShawnâs idea?ââ you narrow your eyes at Vince.
Vince glances over to Shawn and you do the same. you chuckle as you pinch your nose bridge, âfor fuckâs sakeâ you sink into your seat.
10:39 pm, Raw <Live>
today was⊠odd. not particularly interesting but, well it was something. you were completely zoned out as you stood in gorilla next to Taker, it was just as busy as it always is. no one noticed that you were off, Vince was monitoring the show, some staff were bringing in some last minute promo papers, there were some technicians in the corner, the usual. no one noticed that you were off.
but Taker did.
âyou alright kid?â Taker asked, you look up at him and answer with an absentminded hum. âyou donât look like itâ he nudged your shoulder. âyou ever not wanna do anything because of your gimmick?â you ask, eyes past the curtains. âoh yeahâ he answers.
you look up him, âthereâs been a lot of things that seemed really cool to me that I wanted to participate in but wouldâve been so darn stupid if it wasnât for me being - well you know - deadâ
you sigh, âI get itâ.
he looks down at you again, oh. itâs one of those wrestling days.
âlook kidâ Taker began and you look up at him, âI know you and I have had our ups and downs, and I know weâre not exactly fond of each other but I have a duty, and as locker room leader Iâm supposed to give the younger talent advice when they need it. you definitely didnât notice but word goes around quick âround here and the boys are already talking about your little thing with Vince and Shawn in the office earlier..â he explained and your eyes widen.
â..w-what?â you ask, he places a hand on your shoulder and shakes his head. âjusâ donât think about it too much. thing is, I can see youâre going through a hard timeâ he says making you chuckle, âI know I donât look amazing today, but damnâ and he laughs.
âlook, youâve done some great things in the short time youâre here and iâm not gonna ignore that, youâve really done some incredible work! your match at summerslam was real good, and I can see that it taking the womenâs locker in a good direction and I donât want you to like .. lose your focus on the work youâre doingâ he said looking away from you.
this felt a bit sudden, but you two needed to sort out your problems at some point and itâs been so long since it felt like you had mentally buried the hatchet.
âwe all know Vince is ..not really fully thereâ he point to his head and you giggle, âand the longer you stay here, youâll see more of it. stand up for yourself when you need but sometimes youâre gonna have to do things for the sake of doinâ âem; or because itâs what good for business. donât let this little tidbit stop you from performing well, I know it feels like hell right now, but it wonât bother you after a whileâ he pats on your shoulder.
you know what? you needed that. you really needed to hear that.
you didnât know what to say or do, so you hugged his waist. it was funnily awkward, but he patted your back some more.
âthank youâ you smile, âit means a lot that you think, genuinely. and uhm, I wanna apologize for the uhm, fight. that was outta line and I shoulder have done thatâ you fidget with your hands. âeh, donât worry âbout it. I forgave you for it a long time ago, granted I was acting like a dick, so iâm sorry tooâ he says.
a staff member quietly reminds Taker that heâs entrance is coming up. you quickly wish him good luck as he fixes up his hat and coat, you lean against the wall and take in what he said.
âit wonât bother you after a whileâ his words echoed through your mind, you hoped it would get better soon.
you look down at your self, the extravagant gear your wore today was a bit much. you wore a mini skirt and a cropped zip up jacket, both were pearl white and had bright red broken heart prints all over them. your boots were thigh high and had the same print but inverted. at least the beret was plain white. how is Shawn not colour blind yet?
ans speaking of the devil, he walks in, clearly looking for you but you ignore him and stand by the ramp.
he awkwardly stands next you, contemplating whether or not he should say something but he doesnât. guess heâll have to wait until youâre out in the ring.
