Britney Spears is currently able to "Taste the Victory."

In light of her July 14 court appearance, the 39-year-old singer is optimistic about ending her conservatorship, a source close to the matter exclusively tells E! News.

For the first time since her conservatorship began 13 years ago, a judge granted her plea to hire her own private attorney in court. Mathew Rosengart, a former federal prosecutor who appears to be well-connected in Hollywood, was her choice. Mathew has been seen with Winona Ryder and Matt Damon at high-profile entertainment events in recent years.

"Britney is doing fantastic," says the source. "She truly believes she is on the verge of liberation."

The insider reveals that having her favorite lawyer has had a significant impact on the pop star's outlook: "All she wanted was a lawyer who believed in her and would fight for her."

"She just wants to get out of the conservatorship," the insider continues, "and for the first time she feels like that might truly happen." "She's in a good mood right now."

Julia Roberts and Danny Moder's children rarely get to be in the spotlight, so July 10 was a particularly memorable day for the star-studded family. Roberts' husband of nearly 20 years, Danny Moder, and their daughter Hazel Moder walked the red carpet together at the opulent Cannes Film Festival for the screening of Sean Penn's drama Flag Day, on which Danny worked as cinematographer.

Hazel's red carpet look was reminiscent of the 1990s, with a lace shirtdress and black Mary Janes. Her hair was pulled back into a basic ponytail, and she smiled for the cameras alongside her father, who was dressed in a navy suit. There's nothing like going all out for your first red carpet appearance!

In November 2004, Julia and Danny welcomed Hazel and her twin brother Phinnaeus into their family. Three years later, the actress gave birth to their younger son Henry. While neither parent has yet commented on Hazel's red carpet appearance, she does have a red carpet master for a mother.

As part of its drive into gaming, Netflix has hired video-game executive Mike Verdu from Facebook, where he was vice president of augmented reality and virtual reality content.

Verdu spent the late 1990s working for game firms such as Electronic Arts, Kabam, Zynga, and Atari before joining Facebook for two years. Bloomberg was the first to report the hire, which was confirmed by a Netflix representative.

On Wednesday, Netflix's stock jumped 2% in extended trading.

Netflix's desire to offer more than only television shows and movies to its more than 200 million users is reflected in this move. Online gaming, like the streaming industry, is becoming more competitive, with Amazon, Google, and Microsoft all investing in the sector.
