i'm so thankful for everyone in FR tumblr community. everyone drawing and writing, and RBing other people's creations and leaving nice comments in the tags. doing fat dragon friday and other fun dragon appreciation stuff like snapper sunday and tundra tuesday. doin raffles and selling dragons and even just sending gifts to people sometimes. RBing "dragon therapy" posts and sharing nice dragons to help people feel better. everyone so nice. ilysm.

Lamploch is a town in the northeast region of the Ashfall Waste. It is located above a large petroleum deposit, which leaks into the nearby lake and occasionally catches fire. The rising sparks from the oil burns gave the lake its name of Firefly Lake. The town is sometimes referred to as Firefly Lake as well.

Drinking water for the town is provided through rainfall, solar stills, and occasionally from the nearby Sea of a Thousand Currents (which is freshwater, and also technically a lake) (that's site lore!). The town's agriculture uses groundwater and has had no noticeable issues.

Lamploch is well-known as a producer of fruits and vegetables around the Ashfall Waste, but most of their economy is petroleum based. Sorneith typically doesn't burn oil as fuel (the main energy sources are nuclear, wind, and magic) but it has a lot of uses in manufacturing making plastics and other chemicals, as well as being refined into asphalt and paraffin. Most of the big deposits are found in Dragonhome, but Lamploch's is large enough to support a small refinery and can be collected fairly easily by 'skimming' off the top of the lake.

Lamploch is a semi-popular tourist destination for dragons who want to see the novelty of a burning lake, while also avoiding the civil war in the western part of Fire territory. The city holds a yearly festival in the summer that is a big tourist draw, with fireworks and a street fair, as well as a winter festival, which is much smaller and mostly attended by locals. They also have a clock tower and lively theater scene.

ok so this started because, the thing about dusthides is that they have a very cool thing going on with their wing, where the secondary is only visible on the underside of the wing and not the top. unfortunately, only one pose (F) shows this off at all, so I wondered if the M pose could be altered to show the back wing to emphasize that trait. and also i thought it would be cool if the secondary was also on the underside of the plating, which i then had to add more of, and then also i had to draw the F pose to see if i could reposition the tail to show off THAT attribute. and then since i was drawing them ANYWAY i just redesigned some other things. for fun. i dont think i did it super great but it was a fun exercise!!
