i just wanna know what ‘cis’ actually means to these people. like its ‘anyone who identifies with the gender they were assigned at birth.’ can you explain what gender is? what is identifying as a girl/woman? what are the traits? what am i identifying with? they dont want to admit its stereotypes so theyre like “its whatever you believe it is. gender is personal and depends on the individual.” soooo how is cis an objective category that comes with clear systemic privilege when gender is infinite and meaningless and can look like anything? a dysphoric gnc ‘cis’ person has cis privilege over a nondysphoric gender conforming afab who uses shey/they pronouns? what does this privilege look like? what does cis even mean in that situation? but then i see people go on about how cis people are so basic and boring and have no complex inner worlds. how do you know? how do you define this group? how do you identify them as cis? someone was like “if youre cis i hope you get well soon :(” how can you make these blanket statements when you cant even say what puts you in a different category from them? what exactly do they need to get well from? also based on your flimsy definition of cis i am not cis, not to mention my dysphoria. and yet i still get called cis? is anyone truly cis? pls explain how something that comes with sooo much privilege cannot be defined in any meaningful way 💕
