♰ABOUT MAYURA♰

Backstory:

A girl who loves playing video games. She also happens to be an immortal witch who wields tremendous power. Despite her youthful appearance, she's been alive for approximately 400 years. As a result of being reborn in our current world and universe, she exhaustively played every game imaginable of every genre. Her biggest special interest in life is retro games, particularly titles from many different regions released on arcade and micro-computer platforms. In more recent years PC games that popped up in comparatively modern years especially infatuated her feminine heart. In wake of her manic/excessive gamer compulsions going too far, she set up a new residence in the digital world and 'cyberized' herself into the 'cyberbrain'. [implying she caught 'Closed Shell Syndrome'] Her personality is straightforward and brimming with curiosity, it's easy for her to fall deeply absorbed in things she's curious about. Her favorite topics of choice are retro games and microcomputers.

As for her hobbies, she spends her time collecting and assembling microcomputers as well as farming greater demons. (2)

She's president of the "Even if the simulation game reveals a dead body I still won't ragequit" club.(3)

Trivia:

The popular slang "Zettai Ryouiki" (Japanese: 絶対領域, lit. "absolute territory") was coined thanks to Mayura's character design reference sheet. "Zettai Ryouiki" refers to the area of bare skin in the gap between overknee socks and a miniskirt[1] (or shorts).[2] It can also be used to describe the clothing combination. The term first became widespread in otaku slang as one of the attributes of moe characters in anime and manga, but it is now used by the general public in Japan.

Mayura's launch date being March 9th is a very significant and meaningful date, in Japanese 3/9 can be read as "San-kyu" as in "Thank you".

Mayura was the first ghost created that wasn't the default Nini-tan

The "Wiz" in "Nanika Wiz Mayura" has a double meaning as it is both a reference to the game Wizardry and a stylized romanization of the English word "with". "wiz" is also the name of the balloon skin she comes with.

the hexagram( ✡️)on Mayura's hat is a Kagome Crest. It's a commonly seen symbol of spell-casting in Japanese art and media. Buddhism and Shintoism are Japan's primary religious traditions.
