“I didn’t grasp that the shadows that sometimes crossed her face weren’t momentary clouds passing in front of the sun. Her deep silences were more than daydreams. And her habit of standing with her arms wrapped around her ribs was a way of holding herself together.”

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy”. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”

This is my life.
Me sitting alone, exposed and vulnerable. Meanwhile the rest of the world are passing by, minding their own business, totally and fully closed off, leaving me to fight my battles alone.

The gun shots
Tumblr media
It all happened so fast. I did not have time to react. The bullet glided so gracefully trough the air at full speed. And bang. His body fell motion less to the ground. It felt like the whole world around me stopped and collapsed. My best friend, my husband, my love and lover, my everything was just laying there. Dead. In front of my eyes. I could hear screaming, but it all felt so far away, even though in reality, it was right beside me. I could feel my legs give out and i whimpered as my body fell to the ground. I was still alive on the outside, but on inside, I was already dead. I could feel my heart shattering as a scream of pain found it’s way past my shaking lips. The sobs took control of my body as i sat there, leaning over his dead body with my head on his chest. I could feel the warmth of his body slowly fading, and my sobs got even worse.
How was I supposed to go on with my life when he was gone? My sobbing quieted down as I lifted my head up while I stroked my thumb gently across his cheek. His pink lips was now pale and beige, his once so happy eyes was now dull and lifeless. I could feel a single tear roll down slowly from my eye, continuing across my cheek, past my nose and fall down from my jaw and right under his adorable nose. My life was literally over. My heart was gone. What was i supposed to do now? My only reason to stay alive, was now, at this very moment, on his way home, to heaven. And then I heard it. The sound of a gun being fired. Again. And suddenly I can feel the pressure of something going trough the skin of my back, passing my ribs and going straight through my heart and come out on the other side. My answer. That is what it is. My escape from the pain. My one way ticket up to heaven, home to my love.
