god my favorite part of knitting/crocheting/etc is watching string become fabric. crumpling it in my hands. this fabric would've never existed had I not willed it into being. it isn't fabric, it's time made physical. made material. isn't that the high of crafting? you mold time between your hands and put it into other people's hands. my least favorite part is when my cat tries to cram the whole yarn ball into his mouth

Erin's posture relaxes and she lowers the sword as Terry spoke. At least he wasn't a threat anymore. The queen watches Mae enter the portal and tries to give her a reassuring smile.
She reaches through the portal and stakes Terry's hand rather firmly. "Nice to meet you as well, Terrance."
Erin lets go and takes a step back from the portal. "Goodbye--I hope we can speak again," she says, before raising the sword again. The group watches as the portal is closed by a reverse of the action that opened it in the first place.
Hello Ms. O'Neil!
Its Mae, I was just wondering where do you think we could meet? I would like to talk to you in person,
-Hailes
Hi, Ms. Hailes! Absolutely we could meet. Are you somewhere private right now? I’d have to open a portal in the same room as you (within 30 ft, if we want to be pedantic about it).

"You are not their keeper, Mae, you don't need to apologize for their behavior," Erin instructed, smiling at Mae before turning her attention back to Terry and Grant. She nods.
"Yes--it's quite frankly none of your business, but Mae just had some questions that I was happy to answer over tea. There's no need to pick a fight--Mae, you should get home."

"Nothing that practice couldn't help with--you're older, wiser, and stronger now. I'm sure you'd do fine. If not, you can certainly be a hero in your own way," Erin warmly responds, not looking away at Kel as he glances around the room.
When Kelsey moves their chair back, Erin actually stands up and picks up both of their now-empty cups. She stacks them together and walks back over to the teaset on one side of the room to set them down back where she found them.
Afterwards, she approaches Kel again, now standing behind the chair she had been sitting at minutes ago. "Are you feeling better now? It's always nice to see you, but you gave me quite the fright."

Psi didn't watch where they were going, and perhaps subconsciously searching for a place they felt comfortable in, they appeared abruptly in Erin's library. Stumbling, nearly tripping as they arrived, Psi didn't immediately realize where they were. In one hand, they were still gripping an empty, crushed can of Mountain Dew Code Red, and the other hand made a quick swipe across her eyes before they raised their head to look around.

Erin stared down Terry and Grant, almost daring them to attack her. But she sighed in relief and lowered her own sword as Terry spoke.
"The time dilation--I should have remembered! Time passes slower in my realm than on Earth, correct? Well, Mae and I were just having a conversation."

Erin was smiling as she stood on her side of the portal as Mae approached it. But that smile faded as she heard the door being kicked in by a familiar face and the queen turned to look inside the apartment. She hadn't expected anyone to show up right now, especially not these two. Granted, they weren't Erin's version of her son and Willy's runaway, but they were still a threat.
She points the sword back at Grant as he aims the shotgun with one hand and gestures to Mae with the other. "Right here! She's fine. Put that down, I'd hate to see anyone get hurt," Erin instructed, her voice bitter and laced with a threat.

Erin hums thoughtfully. "You're right--it became a necessity, after everything. But it's also important to de-stress. I also find knitting and gardening to serve a similar function."
She furrows her brow, a bit confused. "I'm not sure what anime is, but you intrigue me, Kelsey. I'd be honored." A pause, as she glances to the side, then back at Psi. "I think you'd enjoy fencing--self-defense and an art form."

"What do I do for fun? As if running Rock Port isn't the most fun I've ever had!" Erin replied, with a teasing grin. "Oh, god, no. I wish I had more time for my hobbies. I'm an excellent gardener and mathematician, um...I fence? I try to stay active, you know."
She crosses one leg over the other and relaxes her posture, almost as if she just noticed how formal she seemed. "What about you, Kelsey? Besides saving the time continuum, of course."

"Yeah, that was him. Grant's...been through a lot. We all had--I'm just trying my best to keep my family safe here." She looks away and pick back up the teacup to take another drink from it.
Erin laughs and looks back at Kel, relieved. "Oh, I see!" She says, trying to lessen the tension in the room. "And here I was worried you had gotten into trouble.”!

She shook her head. "I'm glad that other timelines haven't gone through what those poor kids have. I was only able to convince them to let me raise Grant--the others are with them. Well, not Terrance. He has some secret syndicate somewhere, but believes that I'm...an enemy. A lot of things went wrong."
Erin looks away from Kel, almost ashamed to admit what happened. It was a few moments before she looked back. "What's the conundrum you're worried about? Maybe I can help."

"Oh no, was that what you were preparing for when we had tea in the library? A fight? I'm sorry--is that why you don't seem well? No offense, you look great, just...I don't know, I'm sorry." She laughs lightly and sits up straighter, no longer leaning her elbow against the table.
She pauses, her expressing growing darker at the mention of Rock Port's past. How best to explain....well. Erin supposed she could come up with a convincing argument--it would come out eventually, so why not have it come from her?
"I-sort of? I'm told that my timeline is very off the mark....see, I watched Henry and his group die in the final battle against their fathers. I was forced to make certain...alliances with Willy Stampler in order to protect my forest and myself. He thinks I'm on his side, I got to take back Rock Port in peace," Erin explains, leaning closer to Kel to speak quietly.

Erin hummed in response. "Right. It's easy to forget that the gods truly exist, sometimes," she said, resting her elbow against the table and her chin against her knuckles. She stared at Kel analytically.
Detect Thoughts - 2nd level divination. (-1 Sorcerer Point to cast it silently w/ the Subtle Casting Metamagic ability.)
For the duration, you can read the thoughts of certain creatures. When you cast the spell and as your action on each turn until the spell ends, you can focus your mind on any one creature that you can see within 30 feet of you. You initially learn the surface thoughts of the creature—what is most on its mind in that moment. Questions verbally directed at the target creature naturally shape the course of its thoughts, so this spell is particularly effective as part of an interrogation.
What Erin would find out was...nothing. She should have guessed that Kelsey could protect themself.
As an action, you can either shift your attention to another creature’s thoughts or attempt to probe deeper into the same creature’s mind. If you probe deeper, the target must make a Wisdom saving throw. If it fails, you gain insight into its reasoning (if any), its emotional state, and something that looms large in its mind (such as something it worries over, loves, or hates). If it succeeds, the spell ends. Either way, the target knows that you are probing into its mind, and unless you shift your attention to another creature’s thoughts, the creature can use its action on its turn to make an Intelligence check contested by your Intelligence check; if it succeeds, the spell ends.
Erin dismisses the spell and refocuses her attention back to what her guest was saying. "Of course--it's really not worth worrying about what people from other timelines are up to, especially when they're not nearly as powerful as you," she replied with a wink.

Erin listened rather intently to Kelsey's explanation. Her question had a secret motive other than concern for Kel's health--she had had encounters with the 'multiverse,' and had many questions. As well as an inkling that this concept was about to become vitally useful. Not the dimensional magic itself--every dimensional witch Erin has met has been...quite the character. She made a mental note to not inform Tilt of this, wherever that 5th-dimension being was now. But what could be useful was the opportunities that other universes had. Certain events may or may not have happened
"Dimensional magic--it makes perfect sense. It's just on a greater scale than most can comprehend. Really makes one wonder if there is some sort of higher being watching over this 'design.' I doubt it's a little thing on a cell phone that's become a god," she mused, before taking a sip of her tea. The tea itself was different than last time--a lemongrass tea with a hint of mint.
"I'm sorry it's causing you such pain, Kelsey. I just hope that you're giving yourself time to take a break from all the 'Tumblr drama.'"

"Oh, of course! I won't keep you," Erin said, setting her own cup on the table in front of her. She rose from her seat and effortlessly picked up the sword from where it had rested. "My offer still stands, Miss Hailes. Of course, you can reach me anytime."
She pauses as she raises the sword. "Stand back." With that, Erin swung the sword to create an invisible cut in the air that soon became very much not that. The air crackles with magic as the air split apart to create a portal large enough for either of them to easily step through. On the other side, Mae's apartment can be seen. To anyone inside, there was a loud crackling like last time and a rip in the very fabric of reality opens to reveal the inside of a very nice sitting room and a version of Erin wielding a sword.

"A version of Earth? Someone who works for Grant and his friends, I think," Erin replied, as she continued preparing the tea. Boiling the water in the same manner as the last time she had the aforementioned unpaid intern here for tea--tapping a finger against the side of the teapot and casting a spell.
Once the water finished boiling, she poured two cups of tea and approached where Kel was sitting. "That's a witch's secret, Kel," Erin commented with a wink, setting a cup of tea in front of Kel and sitting down besides them. "But four what? Is something wrong?"

"No, it was a tragedy," Erin said, as if she hadn't personally been the reason they were dead. "I hope the dads are alright in your world, wherever they are."
She paused after Mae's question, as if remembering something. "Sometime, Mae. He lives here, but I think he's out on a trip right now. You'll see him soon enough."

Erin nodded and lead Kel out of the crowded library and through stone halls. “Just Royal duties. It’s been about…a week since I last saw you? I’ve met some lovely folks through that thing, uh, Tumblr? Even someone who might come work here. The poor thing, not getting paid a copper by her employers.”
They didn’t walk for very long, as they reached a sort of meeting room that thankfully was empty. Erin flipped a sign on the door to the other side that read ‘DO NOT DISTURB - MEETING IN PROGRESS’ in angry red text, then opened said door to let them both inside. There were chairs surrounding a round table, with a chalkboard at its head. On another coffee table in the back of the room, there was another teaset which Erin began busying herself with. Almost like there was a teaset conveniently in nearly every room in this castle!
“Please, make yourself comfortable. How have you been fairing since last time we spoke? Any…anomalies in the whole time-universe-conundrum?” She asked without looking in Kel’s direction from the other table.
