I cannot stress this enough- Build a routine. Build Habits. Wake up every day and get used to being productive, one day at a time. Do this for long enough and eventually you’ll be at your goal without even realising it.

PSA for all of us running today (and runners in general every day)
wherever you run; the run counts
however far you run; the run counts
however fast or slow you run it still counts
however you feel during the run (good or bad); the run still counts
if you race or don’t race; your runs still count (and you ARE still a runner)
if you happen to wear your watch or ditch it; you still ran and it counts
whatever the outcome of the run; the run still counts
the run is meant to be releasing. releasing of endorphins, worries, anxiety, fear, stress, etc. the run is meant to be fun. the run is meant to connect you; connect you with your surroundings, to the love of the sport, to the gratitude for being able to move your body
if a run doesn’t go as planned, isn’t as fast as you want, cut short, etc. it still counts. the run is not automatically deemed “bad.” there is no such thing. there is only the run. the run counts, always.

some mental health reminders:
- progress is progress even if it’s slow even if it’s the tiniest of steps forward it’s still progress
- find what works for you people respond differently to medications, coping mechanisms that work for one person might not work for you, one type of therapy might not fit your needs
- learn your limits and learn to accept them pushing through everything in your life is not sustainable eventually you will burn out so take time to do what you can to care for yourself
- your goal in recovery should not be to become the person you were in the past you can’t go back but you can move forward

Workouts are uncomfortable, if they are easy then you aren’t challenging yourself. Every workout I do is uncomfortable. I feel exhausted, sore and want to quit. After I’ve finished my workout I feel so accomplished confident and strong. The loss of comfort is the seed of growth. Find your uncomfortable and pursue it. You’ll thank yourself in the end!

Find your fitness
Everyone’s favorite exercise is different. Some people love to run, some love high rep cardio weight sets, some love heavy weights with low reps, and some people love sports that get them moving more.
There is no right exercise, whatever you choose to get your body moving and enrich your life with is your decision. Find the exercise where your brain will shut out the world and all of your problems. An exercise where all of your focus is in the movement and the strength of your actions is what you deserve to find.
