Will: oh I've think you might have spirits in your home
Will: that's okay though! You're very lucky, if you reach out to them you may find you've got new friends ☺️
Will: my friend Levi is very familiar with communing with spirits! Though they're usually his own family. We've traded a lot of books over the years, I'll see if I've for something for you!
The person who just walked up to look over Emile's leather works and was absent-mindedly talking to their parter about noises they'd been hearing in the attic: oh. I think it might just be rats but--
Will: I LOVE rats I had one as a familiar once ☺️

Thinking about Charlie and Vi coming out of a very traumatic event thatd been preluded with very tragic and frustrating backgrounds and running into Emile and Will, who've had their own share of tragedy and heartbreak, but who've also been running strong for over a century and are undoubtedly happy and in love and have made their peace with what they are

He didn't know what reason Vi had for seeking him out again. They'd only known each other for a night. Even if it'd been... a strange night, and mostly a good one, as far as Charlie had remembered. He'd been nervous and shaky and in no state for anyone to find him worth a glance. He'd been a damn good target for someone like Vi and though he was grateful he'd gotten to speak to him instead, he wasn't sure why he'd survived the night.
"You could've waited a little longer, when it wasn't so hot," he said, though there was a smile lingering against his lips when he glanced up at him again. Helping him slide off his pants, he shoved them to the side, too, then started to push himself so he could grab him a wet cloth, but the sight of Vi against the couch made him pause. There was something so absurd about it that it took a moment for it to fully settle; Vi had a tail.
Charlie's face heated up to a warm red. It wasn't just a tail, but a patch of fur along his spine, beginning at the base and running up his back. It made him think of the reflectiveness in Vi's eyes and the purr-like sound he'd made when they'd kissed before. He'd almost thought he'd dreamt up that last detail. He had the feeling now that he hadn't.
"Uh... that's- don't worry about it," he said finally, his eyes still on his back for a moment. Then he looked at his face and frowned. "Uh, just.. I'll- just hold on a moment."
He stepped away, still reeling as he made his way to the bathroom. He returned with a cool, damp cloth, peeking at Vi again as he walked back over and confirming for himself that the tail and the fur were, in fact, still there. He let out a huff of a laugh and settled down next to him, trying to shake off the nerves it'd left him with. It was still hard to wrap his head around what Vi was. With a gentle touch, he reached out to his chin and turned him to look at him so he could wipe some of the sweat away from his face. "You, uh.." He laughed again, watching him. "You didn't mention the tail. ..Y'know, I- I didn't think somethin' like you would be so.. I dunno. Feline."
It hadn't been too hard. All it took was asking the bar tender if he knew any local mechanics named Charlie and he was passed a worn business card. Reimes Auto. It was convincing himself it was alright to go that was terrible.
Vi spent a week with the card sitting on his bedside table, his eyes finding it every time he got up or went to bed. It wasn't sane, was it? To think he and Charlie could be anything more than passing strangers. They were from two completely different worlds, and their brief meeting barely scratched the surface of that. But it could be nice, couldn't it? Something casual! Something where he could wake up a little early and stop by to chat every once in a while. That wouldn't be so bad.
The manor was quiet as he dressed himself. The only people up were some of the staff, and they didn't care enough to wonder what he was up to. Vi yawned as he tied his coat and frowned a little bit at how warm he already felt. Spring was here, and the air outside was breezy, but fair too nice for such a heavy jacket. He didn't have much of a choice, though. If he wanted to step outside while the sun was still high, he had to keep himself covered as much as he possibly could. And by the time he was finished, he'd added a wide brim hat, sunglasses, and a pair of leather gloves. It could've been stylish if it wasn't over sixty degrees outside.
Sneaking downstairs, he peeked around the living room and kitchen just to make sure nobody was awake before slipping out the door.
Victory took in a deep breath. He drummed his thumbs along his steering wheel and peeked out the window to stare at the garage he'd parked in front of. Pulling the keys from the ignition, he put them in his breast pocket and eased himself outside. He felt completely swamped already; he could feel the sweat making the fabric of his clothing cling to his skin. Peeking at the glass of the driver's side door, he frowned at his pink cheeks and straighted up. He could survive it for a few minutes, right? He just wanted to talk. Vi shoved his discomfort to the back of his mind and moved towards the shop.
"Charlie?" Stepping inside, he hummed quietly. The air smelled like oil, gasoline, and faintly of sweat. It was fairly typical-- He glanced over the array of tools and metal mess and smiled. "Are you around? I hope you're not too busy."

I WAS THINKING ABOUT THAT?? Charlie not coping very well after everything and Vi taking care of him more than anything for a little while?? Which he's absolutely devoted to, but he's struggling himself too and he just,,, misses what they had. Will getting Vi to drop the 'everything is fine and I have no needs' facade?? Having someone he doesn't have to put his brave face on for, because he's terrified of showing it too much to Charlie after everything he's been through 😔💔
😭💔💔💔💔 I LOVE THAT???
Charlie's just sort of... a blank slate, for a little while?? He's finally free from anyone else's influence, and he's no longer physically being held hostage, but he had his autonomy stripped from him-- and let's be honest, he's barely grasping onto his sense of self as it is when Vi first meets him. Maybe he was getting better thanks to his influence, but all that progress gets stolen away,,
And now he's something entirely different, too. Charlie just really,, struggling to reach himself for a while? And feeling so guilty for it too, because he knows Vi had been through a lot too and he wants to be there for him 😔💔💔💔

Hello listen,,, Emile and Will having a guest house on the ranch? Inviting Charlie and Vi to stay after meeting them/learning about their predicament? And then Charlie getting to pick up a job as a ranch hand,,, Vi might be able to help out in the clinic fhGBXHC
YES?? 😭❤️❤️❤️
Charlie very.. distant and avoidant at first when it comes to Will and Emile?? He's very grateful to them and does everything he's asked and then some, but he doesn't talk much. Honestly,,, overall after the whole time he spends in the manor, he's probably very quiet?? I imagine even Vi might have a few nights he struggles to get much out of him? 😔💔💔💔
BUT being at the ranch gets him open again. Charlie and Emile quietly working together until Charlie's started to get comfortable enough to goof off a little around him?? And he's incapable of escaping all of Will's chatter and his questions and leaving him tea he can't really drink in the mornings fhdhZDJSJ

Charlie did his best to help him sit up, his jaw pressed tight as he took in Vi's state. He was covered in a layer of sweat, and his eyes seemed hazy and unfocused. He see the reddish tint to his skin where the sun must've hit him, despite his best efforts. There was a soft sound from the back of his throat as he shoved the coat and gloves into a pile on the floor and reached up to help him with his shirt. The squeeze against his wrist eased some of his panic, but the look in his eyes was no less worried as he glanced up at him and nodded.
"I- I'm real sorry about all this," he told him, his own hands shaking a little as he unbuttoned his shirt and moved to peel it from his skin. He was already thinking of slipping away once he was undressed to drench a rag in cold water to wash the sweat from his face. He'd pull him into a cool shower, but he didn't want to send him into shock-- could he go into shock? Probably, right? If he could get heatstroke, he was sure that shock would be an issue, too. He was so caught up in trying to recall anything he'd ever learned about overheating that he missed the line of hair along Vi's spine on his first pass. He knelt in front of him, instead, reaching out to remove his shoes.
"You made a hell of a choice to come out today," he said quietly, though he reached up to seek his hand and give it a squeeze before he returned to gently tugging off his boots. "..You gonna be alright?"
