since mrs, ms, and mr are all descended from the latin word magister, i propose the gender neutral version should be mg, short for "mage"

To any trans man who needs to hear this: When they say they “hate all men” or want to “kill all men,” you don’t have to just accept that. It’s okay to feel hurt, it’s okay to feel unsafe. It’s okay to recognize that they are either othering your manhood or demonizing you for it, and to call them out for it if you’re in a position to. If they have trauma around men, they can work on that in private instead of expressing harmful sentiments around their marginalized male friends. You deserve love and safety. I love you and I hope I can help you feel safe.

I wish people realized that things like criticisms of commonly made posts or statements or similar are contextual.
For example, how trans women or men or enbies are treated by transphobes, by cis society as a whole, by general queer spaces, by specific trans spaces, and by trans spaces just for their gender are all going to be different. It's also going to be different how each of those spaces treats trans people with other marginalized identities, who are gender nonconforming, etc.
So a critique of how the trans community treats a given group (for example, putting trans women on a pedestal so that they can either do no wrong or they're horrible irredeemable monsters, which absolutely hurts trans women) is not going to apply to wider society in the same way, because wider society tends to primarily villify transfems.
Another example: I saw a very good post about not making every post about how asexual people can actually still have sex. And yes, absolutely, assimilationism is a huge problem! But also, within some of the ace spaces I've been in, sex favorable aces are COMPLETELY erased and treated essentially as "lesser" aces. In those spaces. Within those safe community spaces, talking about how it's valid to HAVE sex while still being ace is still important, because it's not an appeal to allos to recognize us as human because we have sex, but a reminder to other aces to recognize us as ace even if we have sex.
And that shows that this is even more contextual, because there are absolutely ace specific spaces that have the opposite problem!
Or take another trans example. Trans men are treated as little brainwashed autistic lost lesbians who need rescuing from their own autonomy but ALSO as evil sexual predators raping gay men and brainwashing more autistic lesbians into mutilating their bodies. So saying "trans men are villified and treated as predators by transphobes" is NOT saying "trans men never face paternalistic condescension and violation of their autonomy via control over their bodies". Quite the opposite.
Or what about nonbinary people? When we take an umbrella term, then it becomes even more contextual! Some things we face from any given part of society we share, but even stuff that overlaps in some places like transmultiphobia and anti-androgeny manifests in different ways. The end result is a collective one involving your sex, gender, other marginalizations, to what extent and in what ways that everything from bodily features to clothes to name to pronouns conform to what's expected - and even what's expected will be different in the trans community than in cis society!
It's, I could go on. I could talk about systems and parts vs people language, about the perceived vs actual "acceptance" of neurodivergence by society and by disabled communities, about similar with physical disabilities, and so on, but at the end of the day, it's all contextual.
It's important to remember the context in which a post was made before claiming it has no merit.

HAATEEEE hate actually. that overweight is considered a more pc nice term than fat. like i need the word fat to become destigmatized right now because im tired of people talking circles around trying to say chubby or big or plus size as catchalls because fat is a fine word. its fine. i know its been deemed derogatory by our culture but thats because being fat is deemed bad anyways but i think its a better word than calling people overweight like over what weight hm? what weight are you saying they are over. normal?? fuck you

look, guys, this may seem ironic coming from a person with Verbose Disease, but I'm about to tell you the secret to winning social media: shutting the fuck up. you have a controversial discourse opinion? shut the fuck up and no one will know. can't participate in a boycott for various reasons? shut the fuck up and no one will know. you think or do something Problematic that has no bearing on anyone but yourself? shut the fuck up and no one will know. you haven't been keeping up on a pressing social issue? shut the fuck up and no one will know. your mind is a wonderful place where you can have all the bad takes in the world and they're all perfectly insulated from everyone and everything unless you try to excise them on a grand scale. you can take the mental L all by yourself without using a public platform as a confession booth and face zero repercussions and it'll be just fine. open up a damn diary and explain yourself there.

When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then?
Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.
You are really tired and frustrated. All of a sudden your chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..
Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.
How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.
1. But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.
2. Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment
3. Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.
4. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.

Being autistic is weird bc it's a lot like putting on a play. You gotta remember your lines, deliver them like a normal human, and tripping up on what you say can break the immersion of normalcy. Also you're at the dentist

because sometimes there are invisible tests and invisible rules and you're just supposed to ... know the rule. someone you thought of as a friend asks you for book recommendations, so you give her a list of like 30 books, each with a brief blurb and why you like it. later, you find out she screenshotted the list and send it out to a group chat with the note: what an absolute freak can you believe this. you saw the responses: emojis where people are rolling over laughing. too much and obsessive and actually kind of creepy in the comments. you thought you'd been doing the right thing. she'd asked, right? an invisible rule: this is what happens when you get too excited.
you aren't supposed to laugh at your own jokes, so you don't, but then you're too serious. you're not supposed to be too loud, but then people say you're too quiet. you aren't supposed to get passionate about things, but then you're shy, boring. you aren't supposed to talk too much, but then people are mad when you're not good at replying.
you fold yourself into a prettier paper crane. since you never know what is "selfish" and what is "charity," you give yourself over, fully. you'd rather be empty and over-generous - you'd rather eat your own boundaries than have even one person believe that you're mean. since you don't know what the thing is that will make them hate you, you simply scrub yourself clean of any form of roughness. if you are perfect and smiling and funny, they can love you. if you are always there for them and never admit what's happening and never mention your past and never make them uncomfortable - you can make up for it. you can earn it.
don't fuck up. they're all testing you, always. they're tolerating you. whatever secret club happened, over a summer somewhere - during some activity you didn't get to attend - everyone else just... figured it out. like they got some kind of award or examination that allowed them to know how-to-be-normal. how to fit. and for the rest of your life, you've been playing catch-up. you've been trying to prove that - haha! you get it! that the joke they're telling, the people they are, the manual they got- yeah, you've totally read it.
if you can just divide yourself in two - the lovable one, and the one that is you - you can do this. you can walk the line. they can laugh and accept you. if you are always-balanced, never burdensome, a delight to have in class, champagne and glittering and never gawky or florescent or god-forbid cringe: you can get away with it.
you stare at your therapist, whom you can make jokes with, and who laughs at your jokes, because you are so fucking good at people-pleasing. you smile at her, and she asks you how you're doing, and you automatically say i'm good, thanks, how are you? while the answer swims somewhere in your little lizard brain:
how long have you been doing this now? mastering the art of your body and mind like you're piloting a puppet. has it worked? what do you mean that all you feel is... just exhausted. pick yourself up, the tightrope has no net. after all, you're cheating, somehow, but nobody seems to know you actually flunked the test. it's working!
aren't you happy yet?
