A wide smile blooms on Kori's face, clearly thrilled by Jade's show of trust. "Ah! You look very similar to the older pictures of him. Quite beautiful." she says, reaching out to tip Jade's chin up with her fingers. 

Jason had no mask when they met, but if he did, she thinks he would have been more hesitant to show her his real face. Half of her is pleased at the idea that Jade would let some of her 'secret identity' slip, and the other half stubbornly reminds her that letting go of a falsity is something to be expected, not praised. 

"Not quite the same, though-- more feminine, of course. And most of his pictures are mugshots."

"Yeah, that seems to be us. Gettin’ broken and bruised and standing back up anyways." There’s an almost bitter laugh- hopefully she’d meet one Todd who didn’t have it like that someday. But for now she was content on avoiding these other selves- or trying to, anyways.

Red looks away, as if contemplating something. That pesky bit of her was itching to remove the mask, to meet Kori the same way she met Jade. Another part, one she considered more sensible, screamed bloody murder at the very thought. 

….Aw, fuck it. In one fluid motion the mask is gone and Jade sighs, mechanical devices no longer deepening her voice. “Thank you.” It’s with a nervous gaze that she glances up at Kori again.

"And may X'hal smile upon it as well. I have not met many people who also worship a goddess, aside from Donna and the Amazons-- it is very refreshing." she says with a smile, pleased by his interest.

"Fascinating." He replied with a tone of genuine interest, "I must say I have not met many non-human mortals in my time. May the Goddess and the Elder Gems smile upon the hour of our meeting."

His quipping is interrupted by another explosion from the ship, sending white-hot bits of shrapnel flying. Dark smoke billows out, spreading through the soundstage and rising up to the high rafters. 

There's a clanging sound and Kori floats out the ragged hole she'd blasted in the hull. She makes an odd silhouette in the smoke, mostly a mixture of the bright pink light around her fists and the comet trail of her hair. "<Where the hell...>" the princess begins to mutter before seeing Dick. 

She immediately rears back, eyes trailing over him as she tries to assess whether he's an enemy or not. He looks mostly similar to her people, but sickly pale, and with pitch-black hair cut so short it makes her want to wince at the sight. "<Who are you?>" Koriand'r demands in Tamaranean, her voice rough and throaty from screaming war cries.

It would have been a normal night, nothing to do but enjoy the noise of the sleepy little city he called home. Bludhaven’s noise wasn’t like the ones he was used to back in Gotham, no these noises where calm and collective at times. As the masked hero sat on top of city hall staring at the night sky he felt at peace. That was until a ship decided to fall out of the sky. 

This was a scene he wouldn’t have expect in his life. Watching a large object falling from the skies towards his little town. Well it wasn’t like this didn’t happen often, but in his town this was rare. He watched as explosions and beams of light escaped from the ship. “Great what I just need, aliens.” he spoke collecting his bearings and jumped from the high tower pulling the grappling gun out and swinging his way towards the impending crash site. 

As he watched from the distance the ship crashing onto an abandoned movie complex he slipped through the shadows keeping his eyes on the object. “Oh please don’t be another Superman, don’t think Metropolis can take any more damage.”

"My true name is Koriand'r-- it roughly translates to 'fire of a star', thus Starfire." she explains, her solid-green eyes blinking slowly almost like a cat's. "I am not human, no. I am Tamaranean." 

"Star…fire…" Baddeleyite said the name slowly as if tasting it as it passed his tongue. "A peculiar name for a peculiar being." He stated, his iron-black eyes following the orange-skinned woman as she floated about him in a lazy circle. "I’m probably stating the obvious but I take it you are not human?"

"On Earth? I broke free from the slave ship that carried me, which happened to be very close to this planet."  "As for how I came to be in the same world as you-- I do not know. Many strange things have been happening to me as of late." Kori says with a small shrug of her broad shoulders.

prxncessoftamaran flew into Jump City

No further proof needed in her mind, Starfire accepts the offer with gusto. The strangeness of embracing herself is quickly overpowered by joy and she finds that she can’t stop herself from grinning. “Oh, how glorious this is!”

"It is an enjoyable change to speak with someone from my home planet, even if it is myself. How did you come to be here?"

Her head tips to the side as she looks Jade over once again, eyes narrowing a fraction. 

"If you are anything like my version of you, I am sure you will survive. And prosper, even." Kori says with complete confidence, not exaggerating a bit. "He has gone through a great deal of pain. And I believe he has come out stronger for it."

No she didn’t jump when the other was suddenly closer what are you talking about—  stammering, Jade tried to gather her thoughts. “I- I don’t- It’s-” With a sigh she cuts herself off. “It’s complicated. But in the past year I’ve learned a lot of things. None of them good.”

She’ll be replaced. There’s a male version of her. There’s alternate-sex versions of everyone she ever knew… everything was so different, yet nothing changed at all. Nothing worth changing, anyways. Did she have the guts to change that herself?

And here was Starfire, being nothing but open with her. Didn’t even ask anything about the X suit, or what she does with it. Part of her felt she owed her more than incredulous looks behind a mask and reluctant conversations.
