You wanna know what the darndest thing is? Shadow Weaver has a better case for being POC then Catra. Shads can be read as Middle Eastern coded, and she is voiced by a black woman!

Yeah, and you could say the same for Hordak and Horde Prime, the latter not only voiced by a black man, but he also has those "dreads"...

But we all know very well that the SPOP fandom could not care less about the actual POC in the cast. Of all the characters of color, they only care about Catra - who doesn't even count as a WOC - because she's conventionally attractive and her behavior is excused by the narrative. I never see a single defense for the real POC of the show, and the villains get even worse treatment because they're physically disabled and/or older.

If everything is going to accordingly, this is being shown on a livestream. I took some advice, and gave you a few redesigns. For reference, Kazari is the reincarnation of Shadow Weaver from She-Ra, since I believe she deserved better. Too that end, I'd love to here your critiques.

For starters, we have the recalibrated colors, I took some advice and muted the red and gave her red boots.

Kazari is the reincarnation of Shadow Weaver, so I wanted her to have colors amagamating Shadow Weaver and Light Spinner.

I thought about this midriff design, but it may come of as trashy.

This is a pallet swap of Shadow Weavers colors, since it looked fun.

This is her Prom Dress design.

Meet Kazari, Shadow Weaver's Reincarnation

Special Thanks to @xxpillsburyhoexx, the brilliant scientist who designs Kazari's body.

1- Kazari is a magicat, because in the immortal of George Lucas; “It’s like poetry, It rhymes!” Oddly enough, my original concept for Kazari was her being a dog-like creature.

2-A red jacket with orange stripes, because that is the color scheme of Retro Shadow Weaver.

3-The ying-yang symbol signifies balance. Male/Female (Kazari is Non-Binary), Up/Down, and for this story, Light/Darkness.

4-Kazari keeps her tail wrapped around her waist her like a belt to keep her it from being grabbed in fights and stuff.

5-I chose those colors because they are the same colors as Light Spinner

6-I chose that shade of red because it’s the color of Shads’ mask.

7-I wanted to display Kazari’s athleticism, so I gave her sports tape. Her original design was loosely based on Tangle the Lemur.

8- That’s not just a choker, it’s a surprise!

9-Kazari has green cat-eyes, because Shads had green eyes

10-Kazari is a fusion of the japanese words for Shadow, Hope and Light; KAge, NoZomi and HikARI, making Kazari's name mean: The Hope that Lights the Shadows

11-Have you ever heard of Kingdom Hearts? There is a faction called Organization 13, where members names are their original names scrambled with an X placed in. Kazari’s home planet was originally called Space Australia, but one of my discord friends convinced me to put more thought into it, so took the slang term for an Australian person, AUSSIE, and gave it the Organization 13 treatment, thus: Xisaeus.

12- This story takes place 25 years after She-Ra, in that time, Mystacor has rebooted and intergrated with the rest of Etheria.

13- Like I said, it’s like poetry, it rhymes!

I laugh a little bit at Catradora/Catra stans sometimes when they decide to bully, harass and criticize fans who don’t like Catradora and Catra.

Because...you know you’re not making it any better right? lol

It’s not only about the fact that people have the right to dislike any character or ship that they please, it’s also about the fact that we should be respectful towards each other.

I mean, if you know that this person doesn’t like Catra/Catradora for some reason, do you honestly think sending death threats and hate towards them is going to change that? I mean, granted that their opinion wasn’t going to change anyways, but that’s besides the point.

Why put yourself in that situation? Why make yourself look like an inconsiderate, rude, unsympathetic, snide, dumbass? Why make yourself look like an asshole?

Like seriously, it doesn’t cost nothing to be nice. Even if you do disagree with their opinions, even if you don’t like their opinions on Catradora/Catra, HECK, even if you don’t like THEM, THAT’S FINE.

But don’t bully people.

Don’t harass them or send death threats to them (I don’t even know why I have to say the latter, that should be common sense).

I’m not even saying you can’t express your opinion. This is the internet and you can say what you want. However, there are much more tolerable and respectful ways you can say your opinion without being rude or inconsiderate about it. There’s the mature way you can get your point across, and there’s the immature way.

Look, people have their reasons to not like Catra/Catradora (heck, most of the time, they actually DO be explaining their reasons). No matter how popular Catradora is, no matter how complex, relatable or sexy Catra as a character is, people are just going to dislike the pair or/and her. And for good or understandable reasons. People have that right and you need to understand that. People have the right to dislike things that you like.

This isn’t meant to be an anti Catradora post. This isn’t meant to be a anti Catra post. This is meant to get people to understand that people have different opinions, and they don’t deserve to get bullied or die for it.

Just....PLEASE be respectful to people who aren’t comfortable with Catradora or even Catra. You don’t know what they been through. You don’t know how they feel or what they feel, and it’s very rude is assume certain things. Nobody should have to put their entire backstory on the internet just to explain why a certain ship or character makes them feel uncomfortable. And even if they do? At least TRY to understand where they are coming from instead of being insensitive about it or taking it lightly (“Oh, just avoid it/block the tags lol” or “Oh I’ve seen worse abuse than CA” etc).

That’s all I’m asking guys. We don’t have to like and dislike the same things, but let’s at least try to understand.
