Lucy bit the strawberry, leaving a final piece for him, and then chewed and swallowed. She ate a couple more bites of pancake and then took a sip of coffee. "I can't eat anymore right now," she said and put the mug back on the side table. "Thank you though, it's really yummy."

Carlos nodded in agreement. They both felt the same about Maui, about this house. It would always hold a special place in his heart, he was happy that it somehow survived the fires months earlier. He reached over as she opened her mouth, and he placed the strawberry in her mouth.

"Being in bed is my favorite place to be with you too. Any bed will do but this bed in particular makes is extra." She took another bite of pancake and then looked over at him. She swalled what was in her mouth and then opened her mouth for a bite of the strawberry he was eating.

"I'm very okay with being in bed with you," she told him with a cheeky smile and took the mug he handed her. She took a small sip, "You always make it just how I like it," she did love that he knew her so well. Probably better than anyone ever had before. Lucy put the mug down and started eating a pancake.

She smiled at him, "Breakfast in bed sounds nice." She told him and sat up a little. "I love being back in this bed." Hawaii had always felt a little more like their home than anywhere else.

LucyHalePena: One year ago today my biggest dream became a reality when Carlos and I got married. Giving Delia something I can't give her siblings but incredibly grateful that one of my children will have their parents together for life. This first year hasnt been without its challenges but at the end of the day there's nobody better for me than him. She smiled at him, "Breakfast in bed sounds nice." She told him and sat up a little. "I love being back in this bed." Hawaii had always felt a little more like their home than anywhere else.

Sleep had been pretty non existence for Carlos over the past week. But there was something about being in Maui where he could actually relax enough to sleep longer than a couple of hours. He was up before Lucy, so he made his way downstairs and into the kitchen to start making something for Breakfast. Once the pancakes were done, he made a heart outline with strawberries and blueberries. Putting the plate onto the tray, he poured to mugs of coffee and then went upstairs. He set the tray on the side table and then got back into bed. "Baby," he said softly, pressing a kiss against her lips.

Lucy felt a little selfish pushing for this trip when he was going through a loss of a child but she did need this trip and she felt like it would be good for both of them in the long run. They had almost ended not that long ago and Lucy really wanted this relationship to work out. Their first day felt strange to be back after so long but after she dusted the house and cleaned up a bit she felt more at home and relaxed the rest of the day until bed. The next morning she heard some sounds followed by him kissing her lips. "Mornin," she said groggily and her eyes fluttered open. She felt like she could still sleep but she wanted every moment she could get with her husband.
