big fan of the albinauric set in elden ring, but WOW do I hate that I have to kill latenna to get it before constipated snowfield and farming the most annoying enemies in that area 😭

it's not that it's like it has above average stats for its weight or anything. it just looks really good on my sorcerer build.

like the blueish silver armor with the black cloak has waaaay too much drip for what it is.

it can even fit with a melee character if you alter it.

the only issue I'm having is that I haven't found fitting pants yet, but I do think the black knife ones would fit really well on the unaltered version. problem is that is in the snowfield with no way to get it early. at least I won't have to farm for it though :3

I'm also trying to make the albinauric staff work by trying to do an arc/int build for the first time :3

only issue that I'm facing is that there's only two arcane sorceries, even though lore wise a bunch of them should have an arcane requirement.

like loretta's greatbow/mastery. she's basically a roided up first gen albinauric, which is why she can't just control her arrows, she can make a whole ass bow with it.

and albinaurics cast sorceries with their innate arcanenes instead of intelligence like almost everyone else, so loretta's sorceries should be arcane.

ranni's dark moon should also have an arcane requirement. it's associated with arcane things and ranni's whole schtick is basically arcane stuff.

I mean she imbued knives with the literal concept of death to kill demigods.

and I think the frost sorceries should have some arc reqs too, because they're considered heretical by the academy and they only condemn stuff that isn't completely reliant on intelligence.

like thorn and magma sorceries, which are reliant on your faith.

and if frost sorceries don't require weird arcane knowledge, then why does the academy not study them?

I mean second gen albinaurics can even spew freezing mist at you and they are literally the living embodiment of arcanenes.

the stat requirements and scaling and shit doesn't line up with the lore at all and I think the game is worse for it.

I mean look at the golden order greatsword. the golden order isn't reliant on pure faith, you're also studying and questioning what you believe in, thus intelligence.

the gameplay reflects this pretty well for the most part, except on weapons for literally no good reason. all it does is add A THIRD greatsword that scales best with dexterity and faith.

like the fucking full moon greatsword that rennala gave to radagon upon their marriage, that radagon later modified into the manifestation of his beliefs, scales purely of your characters faith?

no. fuck that.

also now that I think about it, I do believe that the dark moon greatsword you get from ranni after you marry her should also scale with arcane lore wise, but it is the signature moon greatsword that is in every from soft game and it always scales with intelligence. I think it's better like this.

(however I will change that opinion if they somehow add rennala's full moon greatsword into the game as the int version. then ranni's dark moon greatsword should be changed to reflect the lore. though I doubt this would ever happen outside of a sequel, so it's fine)

anyways, not enough int/arc stuff and not enough fth/int stuff in this game, even though the lore offers significantly more than enough options.

they didn't even keep all the cool infusions from dark souls 3

like chaos for int/faith and sacred and simple for passive hp and fp regen respectively.

just put in like an unalloyed whetblade that let's you infuse your weapons with int/fth, a draconic one for fth/arc and a silver one for int/arc.

they could all also have a second infusion for alternate status scalings.

like the unalloyed one also gets a faith infusion with lower overall scaling than sacred, but with passive healing and an intelligence infusion with lower scaling than magic, but passive fp regen.

oh yeah we had chimes hung up on our door until we moved and now they're in the hallway on a wall and whenever I move past them really quickly I get a lil heart attack x3

for my fellow psychotics who struggle with thinking someone is in their house, a method I’ve found that really works are these guys:

i put them on my front door and anytime it opens they ring. that way if i think someone has broken in or i see someone who isn’t there i can think back to if the bells have rung, and if they haven’t i can assure myself it’s not real. obviously it’s not fool proof, like if you are prone to auditory hallucinations, but it has really helped me calm down in time to avoid major psychotic breaks. it’s a real lifesaver
